Yeah, but it's a game. That person wasn't really manager of West Ham, I'm not really manager of Newcastle, etc. People seem to launch hissy-fits at FM as soon as it deviates from what would have happened in real life. If you want real life, just watch football on TV. If you want to take Stevenage Borough to the Champions League final, play FM. It wouldn't happen irl, which is why the game was made!

I've went through a very similar experience lately (albeit on FM07)

I had lost all hope and completely given up on FM but decided to "do things differently" as I had been afraid to change too much....
......And it worked.

Couldnt agree more and i thin kthis goes back to jimbos orignial point about people giving up. Its not that they want to give its that you have to understand a system that isnt accessable - can we call an end to the sliders?

I dont know if three or four choices of more varied options would be more of a limitation thatn what we have as well as being much easier for everyone to grasp.

I had a similar thing from beta to 0.1, when i moved 3 sliders about 5 notches in total and turned a failing formation into a flawless one!
