OK. So I have tried version 8.0.1 and to be honest starting off with no money ( i miss my 900k start up cash) and the fact alot of coaches stats have went down and cannot get good ones anymore is just annoying me. With other issues I have read seems you lot have got this update horribly wrong. And with how much you lot are making from this pretty novice game I expected better. So back to 8.0.0


But (for me anyway) version 8.0.0 is fine until I get into the first half of my second season when at some point the game will not continue opting to crash every time I enter tactics screen. Which is very very frustrating due to the bloody hard work put into the game. It seems 8.0.1 has fixed this but again the update is just a waste of space.

Maybe if you actually get your finger out and get a proper update sorted!

Ranting like this is not very helpful Jakal. You can use the editor to give you any money that you think you should have.

As for the crashes post your specs together with any error messages given. Finally are you sure it is a legal copy of the game and you are not using a no-cd crack? I just thought I would ask before someone else does.

The 8.0.1 patch fixes these crash problems. I suggest you use that version (SI won't support 8.0.0 as 8.0.1 is the latest version.

What exactly is your problem with the 8.0.1 patch that causes this update to be "horibbly wrong". I suggest you post any problems in the bugs forum.

What trekman said. There's no way the game should be crashing after a season and a half, whether you're patched or not.

ok sorry for rant but like i said it is frustrating with all the work you put into a game then boom its gone.

Game is legit. I have used 2 no-cd exes. Game has crashed 3 times on me. all in first half of second season. Got to 3rd Dec once and thought YES. but then loaded up next day and bang same prob. game crashes when enter tactics.

The error message never popped up at first but after re-trying a few times, hoping that it would somehow just start working again. It gave me some memory error. It says there is a txt file in crash dump but when i go there is nothing.

Now my spec is as follows.

Intel Quad 2.4
4gb Mem
XP Pro 64bit
geforce 8500gt

my machine is very well maintained as i use it for work.

As for 8.0.1 im just pretty disappointed with how it is very hard to get coaches at the very start of the game. compared to getting a good number of decent ones in 8.0

No money is allocated to you compared with 1.2m in 8.0 (team in question here is Hibernian.

Now even those 2 points are enough to say to me that 8.0.1 is going to give me problems. Fair enough the crash issue may be sorted but lets face it the game crashing should never have been an issue in the first place. 2007 never crashed once for me.

ah think i will bash on in another season in 8.0 see how it goes again. have found another no-cd exe so will try that. If it fails again will get on 8.0.1 and add 1.2m to budget via editor.

Still not happy with the coaches though. some that singed no problem in 8.0 do not even entertain you. very sad.

You can take the disc out once the game is loaded, you know. Try it that way using the regular game exe.
