I actually like the way regens grown in this game. They develop slower and more realistic now. No longer do you find youngsters max out their CA at the age of 18 and able to take Premiership by storm.

Now it's much harder to judge exactly how good a young player may become and to me that made a massive improvement to the longevity of the game. I'm able to play on for 20 seasons now and still be well challenged to reach my goals.

What he is talking about is your clubs all time Best XI. At the end of each season this is updated and you can look and see who the top players to have played at your club are. A bit like a Team of the Decade/Century

Absolute best: changing match tactics during the game.

I tweak during the game all the time because it does not take a lot of time like it did before.

As well as most of the others mentioned above, I actually like the option at the start of the game to make transfer budgets unavailable until the first transfer window. Makes the game feel at least a little more realistic. Though it could perhaps be tweaked in order to allow some finances to improve your coaching staff.

To be honest, from FM07 to FM08 there are hardly any 'improvements' worth noting in my opinion.

But that could just be me ....the best XI thing is signed sealed and delivered before it comes because I don't usually rotate all that often so best XI are the guys who play most games.

Adjusting the budget does come in handy sometimes when you are 1-2m short of that great purchase.

Probably my favourite extra feature is the pitch dimensions at the start of the year, I'm able to play narrow at the start of a new game and gradually widen my pitch as the quality of my squad gets better.

Facegen is a load of balls as far as I'm concerned, I really don't see what everyone loves about it. The freds all look like they were lifted from old PS2 games, they are blocky, not one bit realistic and it seems the same features get reused time and time again, all the facegens look identical!

FM07 is the better game I think, mainly because the superior match engine negates the extra features in FM08.

Personally i've found the coach reports to be the best addition to the game. Gives a much better review of your squad and players compared to FM07's assistant team report.

The confidence feature is a good addition and has plenty of room for improvement.

Setting the expectations at the beggining of the season is a great idea and makes things alot more interesting if things don't go to plan!

They're my top 3 additions, love the budget adjustment and pitch dimention features and others !

:eek: A positive thread? Thats a new one, I think the ball height is good, also transfer centre, although when you untick a box, it should stay unticked when you save and exit the game.
