And to people who are saying that they are crucial in real life, come on! It's not like Sir Alex Ferguson is a master of picking one sentence from a list of a few possibilities, no, he'll talk a lot longer than that. The "team talks" feature in the game doesn't simulate the REAL LIFE team talks at all. You can't use different tones of voice, nor body language, nor can you see how players are reacting to it (expect after the game you can ask from your ass man how they took it!), there's no interaction.
| The half time talk is crucial. Extremely so, but I doubt it is just about motivation. Taking your example of of SAF, my guess is he does not just yell at the players when he is mad that they are not playing good enough. Although I have never heard one of his talks, I would guess his yelling is more along the lines of "you are not hustling enough, I told you to close down X player every chance!" ; "get behind the f**ing right back every chance you get, you are faster"; "stop holding on to the ball, two touches and let it go every time" ; "if you don't start completing a few passes, you are off after 15 min" ; etc....
Note while there would be a fair bit more cussing involved, and this could be done in a raised voice while kicking inanimate objects, the words are actually making tactical comments.
If you need more proof, watch the Man U game from yesterday. In the second half Tevez and Giggs were brought on. This made the difference he do not rely on his half time rant to create a new team, because it simply would not. Even though he has 20 odd years of practicing these miracle rants, he still made tactical changes to get a result.

However after half time, they come out and they could of had several goals. I put that down to the team talk Fergie gave them. If he had said nothing, and allowed them to wallow in self pity, then I doubt much would of changed in the second half.
He's not successful out of luck, he knows how to get performances out of his players. So I'd say team talks play a pretty big role in football.

| As I stated, you overlook the two major tactical changes he made that provided a big difference in the way Man U were playing. Need more proof? Saha still played like ****.

And the main point is: no matter how important the team talks are in real life, there's NO WAY to simulate them in a GAME!
Choosing one comment from a list of few has nothing to do with real-life team talks!
