As a rule, I never buy the game until the first patch is released and I kept to that this year. I did check in on the forums to scope the general reaction to the game and noted that there was a big issue with closing down. Having downloaded the patch and hurridly visited town to hand over my green for a copy, I found that during games my defenders seem confused as to what to do with the ball. If it is close to them, and an opposition player is a significant distance away, they seem to wait and obligingly allow the other player to take the ball, stay rooted to the spot and only move once too far behind to do anything.
Has this always been an issue? Are my players just morons? Has the patch solved the problem at all?

Having hoop-doop the flander and hurridly visited town to hand over my blue for a copy, I found that during games my supporters seem confused as to what to do with the flag. If it is close to them, and an poof player is a significant distance away, they seem to wait and reluctantly allow the other player to take the noodle bowl, stay rooted to the square and only move once too far behind to do anything.

Thanks in advance for your comments.
This has been happening for a few years now, so I think most of us are used to it.
