I'm using the new beta patch and i find the closing down works fine, having said that i asslo make sure i go to opposition instructions and set it to close down individual players always usually i just set it to close down the wingers and any creative midfield players they have aswell asany players with a composure less then 12, you can find yourself winning the ball in vital areas as the players with low composure wil tend to hang on to the ball too long and get caught in possesion or they will make a hurried pass and give the ball away anyway.

I bought the game last week. I spent 3 days trying to work it out and im normally very good at these games, but nothing, and i mean NOTHING worked. So i was ready to bin the game, originally didnt want to try the beta patch as the word beta makes me ill, but i had no choice. So after installing, it worked 100%, in the sense i could change instructions and actually see it change on pitch. The patch im using is:

Now on to the closing down bug. Whether it is design or not i dont care but... opposition wingers is where this seemed to be happening to me. I thought about it and raised closing down very highly, as in real life if playing a team like say utd the opposition would say close down ronaldo/giggs alot... but you have to be carefull with this as lets say opposition have forward runs on often and change to mixed/rarely, your fullbacks will come out to close down, ball played into centre and because your on often your fullback starts closing down in midfield aswell, ronaldo through on goal. I HAVE TESTED THIS VERY LIMITEDLY AND WOULD NOT CONSIDER THIS TO BE SET IN STONE.
