Why are you only looking at the friendlies?
You could watch, what your assistant does in regular leauge matches. You just have to go on holiday for one day(during the match) and then watch the highlights after the match to see what changes he made.
Or doesn't that work?

| Well in friendlies you can see what changes are made at what time more less, while there is no actual way to watch a league game. As you can see from the screenshots above we have the exact setting for all of the tactical options. If you go on holiday you'll only be able to see the team instructions and they may not reperesent the changes made mid game. Unless you know of a way?

Yes you are right, you can only watch team instructions. Just thought one could view the instructions like in friendlies.
Sorry about that.

What about if you add yourself as a new player and take control of whatever team you're playing in the league next, then go on holiday and watch the match as the opposing manager as red nose goes about his business. Would that work?

I gave this a thought, but as you may well know, lets put it this way, check Man Utd or Inter when they play friendlies and you'll see that they most of the time draw against very weak teams or loose,so i don't think this tactics will work.
But...,try getting suspended for criticising referees and then see how the ass man plays during a league game,it's just an idea

From my research team needs to adapt to new tactics so it is inevitable that the first friendly will be lost. On both Portsmouth tests with Mourinho and Ferguson they lost the first game but won the rest its natural. I keep saying this but people dont listen these tactics are not 100% accurate and should not be used in my opinion its an analysis of how the AI plays e.g. the changes in mentality etc..
I've started using this method and personally I found improvements in my tactic, there is less mistakes and I'm never thrashed.I win the games i expect and i more often lose the ones i should but that because how I set my team to play

Abramovic: This is a very clever idea, and an excellent thread because of it. Well done.
One question: is there any evidence that the initial AI tactical set up is in any way influenced by how the opposition is set up? (Can you even see how the opp is set up?) If so, that might give us some insight into how a 'good' AI player counters particular tactics.
If this is doable, you could try and measure this by leaving Ferguson's team the same, and then playing them against the same team, only with different managers for the other team each time. This should let you see if Ferguson is playing the same basic formation no matter how the opp is set up, or if he adjusts to how the opp is deployed.

I believe it is bflaff to an extent. This however is based on whether your side is favorite or not. Up till now when Ferguson was favorite to win he started with a 442 formation all the time but in my latest test against Barca he chose his defensive tactic starting off. The initial Barca formation(shown above) was changed to a 433 with a DM at around the 60th minute resulting in Ferguson changing his tactics to 442. But I'm not sure who changed to compensate for others change.Another change occurred in the 84th minute few substitutions occurred Ferguson changed to a 4-1-4-1 and Barca reverted back to to their initial formation.
The trouble with this sort of test is that we cannot see opposition instructions or when they make changes mid game, so Ferguson's changes may be direct result of opposition changing something.
Im not going to repeat what I said earlier but I now more less know what changes are made and why. I hoping to organize a friendly game with Inter vs Watford at which point I shall focus more on when the opposition. And we'll see if any formations are are used to counter them if you want? But managers have a set number of formations so I don't know how helpfully this is. For example I've never seen Wenger change his 442 whether hes defending or attacking

after reading this I tried using the same mentality(10) except one striker on +4 more than the other( middle)for my team, this is working great, finally I have a tactic that works both home and away, was getting very tired of the epl. thanks
