It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

The AI is the computer and stands for artificial intelligence meaning that when you play on the game you are playing the computer and not a real life person.

The editor can be found at:

Start - all programs - Sports interactive - Football Manager 2007 - editor - FM editor

At least thats where it is for me

jeez the ai gets to make so many tactical changes, i wish i was allowed to do that (without all the tediousness). oh yea there is the on the fly tactical area (which i never use)

can anyone confirm that the ai gets to make changes under the same circumstances as the human manager? like when the ball goes into touch etc. or is it smooth changes at any increment of time.(in which case, advantage ai)

The thing is you can make all these changes easily by figuring out what instructions are changed when the team goes attacking or defensive and making alternative tactics to suit the instructions.

There is no actual way of recording or monitoring AI's tactics while the game is playing so we don't know exactly when the changes occur but there most likely after significant events in the games, e.g. going a goal down or protecting a lead. Unless someone wants to build a program to do that?

One question: I put my assistant to take control of friendly matches, but cannot see the tactics screen during the match. What am I doing wrong?

What's important to remember is that you don't need to make drastic changes to any tactic when an AI changes formations..at least thats how I play.

I like what Abramovic has done..and it reiterates my point of keeping things simple

You can't once the ass man takes over you just wait for the result..you can view the highlights of the game in hindsight and then split the screen to see what he does in game

the most interesting points for me were the number of free roles (4! on the wingers and strikers), and the number on RWB often (8! including both FB's)

I'd never think to play like that, goes to show how defensive most of our tactics actually are.
