Well after many hours of watching my strikers and defenders head corners over the bar or out of the ground i think i've finally nailed a half decent corner tactic.

First of all the corner taker should be set to 6 yard box.

Next remove any trace of people standing on the front post.

Now for the changes

1. select your 2 best headers (jumping plus heading e.g a centreback) and put one on attack near post and one on attack far post.

2. using your next best header select attack ball from deep. (for me this another defender)

Right now comes the fun part,

3. put a striker hopefully who's not bad with his head or anticipation on the far post

4. get your wingers or crossers of the ball and stick one outside of the area and one as a short option - this works on the theroy that if they pick the ball up they can knock a nice cross in.

5. take your 2nd striker and set him up as attack ball from deep.

6. with your AM set him to attack from deep as well.

7. Lastly get everyone else out of the box, e.g have your DM set to stay back maybe your left back etc etc.

Of course select your best corner taker for both right and left and then it's a case of watching and waiting.

Since i made these changes i've found that there's a 60-70% chance that i score from a corner. In the last 6 games of last season i scored from 9 corners. a most of these goals come from the attcking CBs.

I'll definetely give it a try.
Since 8.0.1 I've found scoring from corners to be a rarity.

Free kicks are even worse... right now I'm halfway though the season and the most any team have scored from DFK is 2! I'd love to see some RL statistics on that particular.

PS - Can I get out of post-mod please? It's been ages.

I had 4 games with this corner setup and would you believe it, 1st game as Wigan vs Aston Villa the first highlight was a corner and surprise surprise a CD goal after 1.24mins!!
4 games in, 5 goals from corner..........thanks buddy and i hope this can get my Wigan to a UEFA spot. Im currewntly lying in 7th spot, 2 points behind 6th with 7 games to go!!

Here is what I've started to do lately, and with an immense success too:

I'm managing Real Madrid and I used to put my best two jumpers (Pepe and whoever is the other central defender I was playing that match) on attack the near post, the next best jumper on challenging gk and distribute the other guys around and have the cross aimed at near post. Although most of the times my guys used to claim the headers they almost never scored.

Then I assumed that as the AI would use its best jumpers on these guys, it sould be only natural fot these headers to miss their targets even if they managed to claim the header. Now I have the corners taken to the far post where Sergio Ramos is instructed to attack, marked by a defender I assume to be not a great jumper (as he is too actually with jumping of 14), but when he claims the header, as he has 19 for heading he bangs a lot of goals from there.

In 5 games scored 16 goals from corners :o:o

but been struggling with fouls while attacking

except that, so far it's brilliant
