Playing as Tottenham at the start of season two. In season one, I began with a massive clear out and bought in good young players with the money - this worked surprisingly well, and saw me finish 4th in the League after a mid season run at the top spot and reach the EURO final (where I took a frightful pasting).
I don't really want to change my team, having bought for the long haul, but am getting alot of board pressure to make a big signing... I have circa £22m available, and could sell a couple of fringe players if necessary.
My team is:
.................ROBINSON....................
.........GARAY...BARZAGLI...KING.............
...RAFINHA........................BALE.......
..................BANEGA.....................
.........LENNON...BOATENG..AARITALO..........
.................BERBATOV....................
My subs are: Alnwick, Breno, Ifil, Sakho, Lulinha, Taarabt, Bent, Saivet, Zeefuik, Wijnaldum & Van Aas (the first regen in six years of playing who has actually been worth having)
Well, tbh I dont know how many "big name" signings you can make for 22M. The problem is that not a lot of players are "big names" according to the game. That is, not a lot of them generate that extra revenue for you from shirt sales. Aguero does it. But apparantely Daniel Alves doesnt. Figure that one out.
You could buy Aguero actually. He should be available around the 30M mark. So if you generate a little money from somewhere and maybe adjust the budget, you could get him? He's most definitely a big name.
You could actually sell King (who's good, but not that great) and get Micah Richards? He might be a big name signing according to your board. The real big names (Kaka, Ronnie etc) are not going to come to Tottenham and neither can you afford them in 22M.
