Its proved to be something of a Biblicalesque disaster (think locusts) for me to get anything going on FM08, as anyone who has come across my previous posts (crys for help, prayers for deliverence, suicide notes ) will testify to.

So no exactly expecting to pull up any trees I restarted yet again with my beloved Reds, my pi$$ poor recenting showing still fresh in the mind (sacked in Nov) I thought it time to go back to the drawing board and answer some rather unsettling questions and knowing in the back of my mind that if it doesnt work this time, People will be associating my name with the phrase "murder suicide" for amny years

1. Why is 442 not working?
2. Why is wide play not working?
3. Why was Torres not scoring? (14games in a row, honestly)
4. Is there anyone at right midfield that I like except Queresma?
5. Can I buy a striker whos not pants?
6. Can I be so greedy for money in a fictional game tht I sell all my best players?
7. Where the hell is Sherman Cardenas?
8.Is there such a thing as a good RB?
9. Doesn't Gary Neville really need shot?
10. How ugly is Dirk Kuyt? You can keep yer facepacks! Wouldnt him, Tevez, Scholes and Crouchy make the worst boy band ever?

So I brought in my team of world class coaches (is it possible to get 7 stars on setpieces?) a few scouts, my usual Saivet on a free and got down to business, who shall I keep, What positions do I need to strengthen what formation shall we go with, wine or cider and the most important of all Pizza or Chinese?

442 seems to be the formation of the big guns in the premier league, so Im going with that, wide play has not worked a jot for me so lets narrow it down, and lets play the Liverpool way, pass and move, Short passing, high tempo (I can hear Momo Sisokko crying when I told him that) not over committing players forward

Sisokko ( it was the only way) £19.5m, Crouch £15m, Voronin £8m, Pennant £8m and Kuyt well, he wont go unless someone offers him a key role in the team, I'l offer him a key role at halloween, scaring the **** out of the youth team

Players In

Quaresma £22m (I know, not again I wanted Hleb but Arsenal are too greedy), Fred £22m and Modric, a paltry $4.2m probably need a new defender as Insua has just got hit by a bus and is out for 4 months

Pre Season - End of transfer Window
I tell ya what, things are looking pretty sweet so far, preseason friendlys all finished with big scorelines, beat Newcastle 4-1 away in 1st match of new season, tanked some road sweepers in CL qualifer 4-0 and then sadly when to Old Trafford "the killer of dreams" and lost 3-0, ouch. However the post match report said Utd were a touch lucky (stats were pretty even) and I was missing Alonso and Fred (Babel is my converted 3rd striker). The other big plus is that in complete contrast to my last game, Torres is now scorin more than a Lebonese Prostitute, hes on frekin fire!!!

So FM alumni I shall keep you up to date on the lives and loves of "Restared LFC Game 116 Torres Takes Manhattan" - Its even better than the real thing

Great post :thup: and good luck. I know how fustrating FM can be sometimes (especially when for some reason your best striker with immense composure and finishing spoons a 1 on 1 wide!)

Well, you could always sell ALL of your players and buy Messi, the 198 PA greatest ever player on FM of all time. I just find it amazing that people think he has the potential to be better than Ronaldhinio and Ronaldo, not to mention he has a higher PA that Zidane and Figo did. Seriously, the guy's a freak, sod Quaresma, get him.
