I had had the last three days off for the new year and today it was back to the usual. We had a game on Saturday against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup. We got knocked out early last year against Clyde. It would be important to the fans to have a good run this year and hopefully win.
"Good morning Margaret. Happy New Year."
"Oh Happy New Year Paul."
"Any New Years resolutions?"
"Yes in fact. A change of scenery."
"You moving house?"
"You could say that."
"Do you know where you're going?"
"Doha."
"Doha?"
"Yeh, Mr Al-Khater has offered me a position at his construction company there."
"That will be great when are you leaving."
"First of March. but my last day here will be Thirty-first of January."
"Well I'm sure you'll be missed."
"So any meetings today?"
"Mr Doyle is coming up for one o'clock, we've got a press conference ready for three."

Reading Star Signs For Celts
Irish international Kevin Doyle has completed his move from Barclays Premier League club Reading to SPL Champions Celtic. BBC Sport understands that the fee is around the ten million mark. Doyle is the first new signing since new owner Ibrahim Al-Khater took over the club in October.
"I can't wait to play with Celtic. They have so much history and great fans, undoubtably the best in the world. To play in Europe has been a dream of mine and I am really looking forward to the game against Liverpool."
Striker Kenny Miller is looking forward to teaming up with Doyle. "I am sure he will be great for this club. He could be the next Celtic legend if things go well. He has loads of ability and is a very special player."
Manager Paul McDaid agrees, "Kevin I am sure will bring something new to the forward line. He is an exciting player who guarantees you goals."
Forward Maciej Zurawski has been loaned out to Southampton for the rest of the season. The Pole has found himself in the reserves this season and is expected to leave and the end of is contract in July.

Ex-Ranger Signs For Hoops
Former Rangers star Mikel Arteta has returned to Glasgow this time to play for Old Firm rivals Celtic. The deal was announced after Celtic's victory over Inverness. The Spaniard becomes the second signing for Celtic during the January transfer window. It is believed Celtic have paid £9million to bring the attacking midfielder to Celtic Park as Everton were reluctant to sell.
His new manager believes he can be a star for his new club, "Everyone up here knows he has ability and he was one of our top targets. He is an exciting player who can score some brilliant goals from the midfield. He knows what it takes to play for one of the Old Firm, so he has good experience of the pressures he will face."
Arteta is the fourth former Rangers player in McDaid's squad joining Kenny Miller, Steven Pressley and Mark Brown. He will wear the number 23 shirt which has been vacated by loan winger Paul Anderson. The Liverpool man made ten appearances for the Parkhead club in his six month stay.

I had just sat down at my desk after my lunch break and the morning training session and I heard a knock at my door before hearing the familiar voice of Margaret, "Gary Caldwell here to see you Paul."
"Send him in."
Gary walked into my office looking worried.
"Sit down Gary"
"I need to know where I stand boss. I've hardly played at all this season. I thought it would be tough but I need to be playing. I need to know what I'm doing here."
"Well Gary, I'm glad you've raised your concerns. At a big club like this you need good players and lots of them. You are a good player Gary. I can't please everybody though."
I looked at Gary sitting in front of me he was nodding but still looked worried.
"I can't promise you anything and I dont want to see your talent wasted. All footballers want to play, if I was left out for more than two games in a row I would bang the managers door down. Your a very versatile player, so was I in my playing days. You can play centre-back, right back, defensive midfield, I value that."
"I'm not first choice in any of those positions though am I? Or even second?"
This had been the moment I was dreading.
"No. No, sadly you are not. Elvis and Big John are ahead of you in the centre, Mark and Joe out on the right and Shalrie and Evander in midfield. You're not a bad player. Just unlucky."
"I'm sorry boss. I want a transfer."
It wouldn't be fair to keep him here if he was unhappy. He was a good player, a Scotland international. It would be selfish of me to keep him here.
"Don't apologise. This big move has probably been too early for you. Don't blame yourself. If you are one hundred per cent certain you can go."
"I've been thinking about it for a while."
"Okay then, Margaret."
"Yes"
"Put Gary Caldwell on the transfer list at his own request."
