Of the three non devils, Ally MacLeod had drawn the short straw in terms of teams. I mean, Iceland for crying out loud. The one consolation was his wife was not a man, nor was she a whale.
Ally/Simun would have thunk himself having landed on his feet - if it wasn't for the fact he was in Iceland. And if he had any feet.
It was true enough that, perhaps, domestically this challenge would be easier. How tough can the Icelandic League be after all. And Fram were a decent side - eighteen times champions of their country. Even if it was now seventeen years since their last title.
But something was niggling at MacLeod's mind.
The future.
Iceland.
You cannot win the Champions League from Iceland. And certainly not with an Icelandic side.
There was though, as he reflected on what might have been, one underlying thought.
This wasn't Argentina.
Thank feck.

To the Devil, a daughter.
One of his 'lady friends' was with child already. The anti-christ would be born in Edinburgh.
Hibs, Hibs, glorious Hibs.... oh wait thats Hearts.
The Devil could have picked the Old Firm, but that would have been way too easy. As if he had the hardest job of the four. And yet, in some ways, he did.
Hibernian have won the Scottish League title on four occasion, the last way back in 1952 when Bobbev just a nipper. To oust the Old Firm would be a hard enough task. To oust them with an all Scottish side.... impossible.
So the Devil had chosen. And perhaps he had chosen badly - after all Hibs had a side composed of virtually all non-Scots and not even the Devil could change a persons nationality.
Or.... Could he........
Well no.

Jock-Andreas sat down in front of the PC. if there was one thing he missed about heaven - apart from the peace, the food, the angel voices singing - it was the lack of instant communication. In heaven, if he wanted to say hello to Adolf Hitler, he just had to think it and he was there.
Many people wondered why Adolf Hitler was in heaven, but ours is not to reason why.
Here on earth communication was so much more complicated. Of course they could have set up a tele-conference. But the Devil had said that was so last year. No, they would be using M.S.N. - whatever the hell that was.
Of course if he couldn't get this damned machine to work, he wouldn't be doing anything but staring at this blank t.v. screen type thingy. Without any warning, Andreas felt something beside him.
'What you doin daddy?' It was the girl hippo.
'Nothing. Go away.'
'Oh Daddy you're so funny' The hippo said.
Stein sighed. Sometimes he wished he was dead. Then he remembered - he already had been.
'Look kid, leave me alone, I'm trying to get this thing to work'
The hippo laughed, 'Oh daddy, you're so funny'
She reached over and did something and suddenly the PC sprang to life.
'OK what did you do there you little brat' Stein was in no mood to be nice to this huge monstrosity of a child, but she didn't seem to notice.
'Why daddy, you had forgotten to switch it on.'
Bloody kids.
'Now where is M.S.N.' Johnsson muttered undered his breath.
The hippo plopped itself on his knee. Stein let out a scream, 'You're breaking my leg!'
'You're so funny daddy!' the hippo laughed, but she didn't move and his leg really was breaking.
'Let me show you MSN' the six year old hippo laughed. Which she did.
Bloody kids.
