Chapter 8

I woke up the next morning to hear the phone ringing, i waited for it to stop ringing. Then it started ringing again, so i got out of bed and answered it.

"Hello my name is Stan, Stan Kroenke, the new chairman of Arsenal football club"
"That was fast" i said.
"Excuse Me"
"Well, now he's out of the way you've decided to set up camp, haven't you" i said in a angrilyish mood.
"Well i thank you for your support, kind sir"
"And i will see you at 10am, sharp for a meeting Mr, Manager"
"Ok, what's it about?"
"Contracts" he replied
"Oh ok i'll see you then"
"G'day mate" he joked
"I thought you were american"
"I am " he said.

I turned up at 10am on the dot, and was told to wait in a room, next to the Chairmans. I waited and waited, untill i checked my phone and it said 10.59, i got up to leave when there was a knock on the door. I opened it,

"Hello, you must be Tom" the man said
"Yes i am" i said
"Well come on in then"

I walked through into the chairmans office and it was much bigger than i had expected.

"Well you know why your here"
"Yes i think so, it's about renewing my contract isn't it"
"Renewing your contract!?!, with a whole year left what would be the point"
"Hang on, did you say a year?"
"Yes, you signed a contract for a Month, and then if you did well enough it would be granted to a further year" he said
"Oh"
"Don't you read the small print, Tom?"
i didn't say anything.
"Well, never mind about that" he said.

"Well then why have you brought me here then?" i questioned"

"Apart from the loanies that where recalled all of the 11 youth players, only have youth contracts, which run out in exactly a month, so i have called each of them here today, to discuss a proffesional contract" he said
"Oh, ok then" i said
"I'd Like you to sit in here with me when, they sign them, ok i said"

"The first meeting is due to take place in 10 minutes, untill then we will have to wait"

"Ok" i said

Chapter 10

"Okay, ill first player should be outside by now" He said

"Ok" i said

"His name is Mikael Junior"
"You woudn't go and fetch him would you" he asked

"Yeah sure i said"

I got up, and stepped outside the door, i saw 4 people one being, Michael, The other young man probably his agent, the women his mother and probably his Father from who he msut have got his name from.

"Mikael Junior" i said.

Then the young player stood up, hugged his parents, as they wished him luck, and him and his agent steped into the room with me"

I asked them to sit down, and then i sat down next to Stan.

"So Mikael, you where born in Finland, but moved here when you where"
"5" Mikael interuppted.
"Oh ok, well you are our only goalkeeper, so we are hoping you will re - sign for us"
"The contract figure i have in my head is maybe, £2,00, per week untill september 2010, and a clean sheet bonus of £400."
"Mikael and his agent discussed this, for a while
"Maybe if i put in a yearly wage rise of 50%?" Stan said, after he had sweetened the deal.

The agent looked at Mikael, Mikael looked at the agent, the agent looked at me, mikael looked at Stan

"Deal" Mikael said.

Chapter 11

Hours passed an i presumed that we had finished, when Stain said

"Just one more, now"
"Who i asked"
"Seb Ruff" he replied

I knew i'd heard that surname somewhere before, but i coudn't remember just quite where.

I stepped out of the door, and said "Seb Ruff"

The young Centre back stood up, and like all the others, he stood up hugged his parents, as they wished him luck. But he was different, his agent was a women, none of the others had a female agent, only him.

I leaded them into Stan's office, where they sat down, and then i sat down.

"So Seb, and you are" he asked the women, with blonde hair.
"Oh im his agent, and sister, i mean im 8 years older than him, so i do have a lot of experience" she said.

"Oh ok" he said

Stan continued the conversation with them, but i wasn't listening all i could hear where my thoughts

Ruff, Charlotte Ruff, where the hell had i heard that name before, i strained my mind back BOOM then it hit me. Then i set my mind back, to 1995, when i was in year 8 we had been dating for 2 years, when she left school. Without telling anyone, no contact what so ever.



"So Tom, You agree then" Stan asked.
"Yeah, as long as you don't do a runner!" i said.
They all laughed, except Charlotte, i think she may have realised.
