Champions League Qualifying 3rd Round Leg 1

Liverpool (1) Dinamo Kiev (0)

Another win but we didn't make the most of the chances we had meaning we have it all to do in the return leg. The Dynamo Kiev keeper was Man Of The Match after making some outstanding saves. The only time he was beaten was on 44 minutes when Momo Sissoko found room to fire into the roof of the net. However towards the end of the game Ryan Babel had to be taken off as he had picked up a knock. Early reports say he may be back for th Everton game on Saturday but i doubt it.

FA Premier League Matchday 1

Liverpool (4) Everton (0)

The day started off with the good news that attacking midfielder Ryan Babel would be fit for the game so i therefore included him in my starting 11. What a move this was as 48 seconds into the game Ryan got onto the end of a Steven Gerrard cross to put us 1-0 up and send 3/4's of Anfield into chaos. After this Everton seemed deflated and we dominated the rest of the match scoring 3 more goals. Dirk Kuyt scored the 1st of these 3 on 62 minutes when he rifled home a Xabi Alonso cross on the volley. On 79 minutes John Arne Riise made it 3-0 with a glancig header which beat Tim Howard at the far post. The 4th goal was scored by Dirk Kuyt after a throughball from Fernando Torres. Dirk Kuyt was Man Of The Match after a great performance where he grabbed 2 goals. Overall a great start to the premiership season and a win in my first derby! Can't compain with that.

Champions League Qualifying 3rd Round Leg 2

Dinamo Kiev 0(0) Liverpool 2(3)

Going into thematch i was nervous. Going to Kiev with a slender 1 goal lead is not the most ideal of situations and imagine what would be said if we went out at this stage. In the dressing room before the game i somehow plucked up courage to give one of my many legendary team talks. I told the guys to defend like hell and try and nick an away goal, i believed this could be done. The game started off quickly with chances at both ends. We tried to catch Kiev on the counter everytime they attacked and one of our counters got us a corner. Harry Kewell stepped up and whipped in a glorious ball and the ball ended in the back of the net. It was then i realised who was wheeling away towards the contigent of our fans...it was Jamie Carragher! What a time for Carra to score!! For the rest of the game i felt at ease and when Andriy Voronin made it 2 on 78 miutes i could breath a sigh of relief. Andriy Voronin was the Man Of The Match after grabbing our second goal and putting in a great display.

FA Premier League Matchday 2

Liverpool (4) Derby (0)

Although it was a good storyline it certainly flattered Derby. The Rams were poor throughout the game and we simply dominated them. It took us all but 4 minutes to go ahead as Harry Kewell slotted home. Yossi Benayoun doubled our advantage on 21 minutes as Derby struggled in every department. Although we had many chances it wasn't until the 78th minute that we made it 3-0 when Steven Gerrard volleyed home. 10 minutes later Harry Kewell put the iceing on the cake and scored his second but this time from the penalty spot as Man Of The Match Yossi Benayoun was brought down by Derby defender Andy Todd.

FA Premier League Matchday 3

Manchester City (3) Liverpool (1)

What a dismal day! My first loss as manager of Liverpool Fc and how horrible it feels. We took the lead after 7 minutes when Harry Kewell steered in a low cross from Stevie G but from then on it went downhill. Man City began to dominate us all over the park and on 23 minutes deservedly equalised through Elano. Then on 50 minutes Samaras was able to grab two goals to sink us without a tace and condemm us to our first loss of the season. I will be expecting better from our boys in the next game because today's performance was simply not good enough.

FA Premier League Matchday 4

Middlesbrough(2) Liverpool (1)

Another game, another awful performance! We realy should have wonhere today but the performance just wasn't good enough. Fabio Rochemback opening the scoring on 22 minutes when poor Sami Hyypia defending allowed him to slide a shot into the left bottom corner. Serhat then made it 2 on 40 minutes with a powerful header. We managed to grab a goal through Eddie Johnson on 74 minutes but we just didn't have the class to find that equalising goal.

Champions League Group F Match 1

Celtic (1) Liverpool(1)

A good performance by the lads and we were unfortuante to draw as Celtic grabs a very scruffy goal on the 64 minute mark thanks to Paul Hartley. Earlier Fernando Torres had opened the scoring for us after irk Kuyt had fluffed a few great chances.

FA Premier League Matchday 5

Liverpool (3) Tottenham(1)

Finally an overdue win for us. I was beginning to forget what winning actually felt like. We took the lead on 31 minutes when Steven Gerrard hit a 25 yard thunderbolt into the top right hand corner. On 54 minutes however Jermaine Defore drew Tottenham level which created a deafining silence around Anfield. On 89 minutes Anfield erupted as our spanish superstar Fernando Torres restored our lead. 2 minutes later Dirk Kuyt put the game beyond doubt and wrapped up all 3 points for us.

FA Premier League Matchday 6

Wigan(1) Liverpool(0)

Another away loss. A change of tactic is in order i think. Wigan's gal came from former Liverpool man Emile Heskey who scored on half time and we simply never recovered.

Champions League Group F Match 2

Liverpool(4) Rosenborg(0)

It seems as though my new tactic works well with our players judging by this result. We dominated from start to finish and throughly deserved our victory. We opened the scoring 7 minutes in when Dirk Kuyt rounded off a good move to beat the Rosenborg keeper. 3 minutes later Jamie Carragher headed us into a 2 nil lead and 7 minutes after that it was 3 when Fernando Torres volleyed home. By 42 minutes it was 4 after another Fernando Torres goal and that is how it ended.
