And finally...please let's never take this all too seriously. I read these because I want to be amused, and I write in the hope of amusing people. Let's not bring the f***ed up mentality of the world today into a story forum intended for entertainment and escapism.
Although I do agree wholeheartedly with this.

Apologies for upping, but I just read this and I'm astounded, if you mean what I think you mean? Astounded. </BLOCKQUOTE>

I thought he meant that there should be no off the field story line at all, which is is ludicrous, but actually reading the Superclub and the Supergirl there does seem to be an element of that in there, so erm, I'm confused now.

I think we need the Story Ideas Discussion thread type thing back tbh. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Considering irishregan's writing style, and the fact that he's a long-term supporter of "Blade", which is nothing if not rambling, I suspect he was being ironic.

me: 14/indian/male

i spent 3 months of my life in england when i was 7 because my father had a teaching job there. during that period i was called a monkey atleast 5 times when i went to the store and the like. i found out what those pieces of **** meant much later in my life but the mark remains.

It doesnt help anyone on these forums when people complain about other users to fulfill personal vendettas. Race is the most fertile yet untapped realm for the creation for powerful storytelling. notice that this statement works both ways. pm7's sheepshaggers+haiti story was funny as his stories usually are but i believe strongly belive he was just trying to be funny. i am prepared to take it on my knowledge of pm that he meant no harm by writing that story.

I personally beleive people should have the discernment to realise when a premise is so ludicrous that there is no way you CAN take any offense.

PM's story was not devoid of parts people could take offense at but the story as whole should dispell any ideas of him being racist. the pokes at haiti WERE there but people should be mature enough to clear the air with the author before reporting him.

kris is just doing his job albeit a bit enthusiastically(i dont mean that in a bad way, really). the real problem is with the posters who didnt talk the AUTHOr before taking action.

enough said.

I thought it was clear when I said "little or no relation to the game" perhaps I should have said "no relation to the game"

I particularly recall that story from a bloke who later got banned which read like a very bad episode of Grange Hill, full of teen angst etc with just a passing mention of standing on the terraces at Leyton Orient thrown in.

Then there was a bloke last week who started his story with words to the effect "it doesn't actually have anything to do with the game".

That's all fine, but the internet has gigantic areas set aside for fiction that has nothing to do with this game, and that's where it should be.

I love back stories and do loads myself. So HD I didn't mean what you thought I meant, just that I reckon football management should feature somewhere in stories that are posted.
