Usmanov Takeover - What The Gunners Did Next Post #2
Jens had been at Arsenal for 5 years before the Usmanov takeover, then at the beggining of the 2008-09 season he transferred back to his old Team Schalke, where he played every competitive game of their Bundesliga season, helping them to a healthy 5th position. At The start of the 2009-10 season Jens was 39 and signs where showing of a possible retirement for the former Arsenal No1 but he signed another 1 year deal at Schalke and completed it again, this time helping Schalke to 4th place. Then dawned 2010, Jens had decided to play just one more season for club, then retire after the South African World Cup, where he would play in for his home nation Germany. He completed his final season for club finishing 2nd in the league, and then went to the World Cup where Germany where beaten in the Semi Finals by the surprise winners Croatia.
Jens then decided to become a Goalkeeper coach for the German national team, where he stayed for 2 years untill he eventually retired from Football altogether.
Nothing i support them in-fact! :p but it about Arsenal not wanting to be taken over by Usmanov, so i decided to follow the players progress after there time at Arsenal seeing what they would do independantly. I doubt it would happen but, hopefully Usmanov wont takeover anyway
