Basically, I've downloaded the patch and updated database. Checked the database to see whether Harrogate's details had been updated and everything is fine, ie. no assistant manager and Mick Hennigan as first team coach. Loaded a new game and Hennigan is now assistant and I have a newgen as coach. Now this annoys me, because the newgen invariably has crap attributes and I have to waste money in getting rid.

So my question is why does the game change the database when loading and can it be stopped?

You've missed the point. The database is fine, the game loads it wrong.

Your right I did sorry, this seems abit weird that the coach gets moved around as the games loads might be worth reporting this on the bugs forum.

I would guess it's one of the sanity checks that the game does on loading the database, so I would guess there's no 'correct' way around it. You could try creating a rubbish regen assistant manager on a short and cheap contract and the releasing him as soon as you start the game. You could even add the amount of compensation you would have to pay him onto your bank balance so your not out of pocket. It's a bit of a mucky workaround though.

Not true. It always costs me about 1k, which for a club with no transfer budget and a small bank balance isn't good.
