Default Barca or Everton

Just finished my 2nd season with the toffees and to my surprise i managed to win the league (mainly due to Newcastle bottling it). But i have been linked with the Barca job they had a v poor season came 4th (only just) i knocked them out in europe fromm champ lge then in uefa they lost first time to twentee.

What i am wondering is should i apply for the job in the event they sack Rejkaard?

I have been wrestling with the prob all weekend, on the one hand i still have a years contract with everton and have the makings of a v good team ave age 24 for the squad couple of young gems coming through (jose baxter anyone?) and got 2 good singing coming once the transfer window opens.

But on the other hand there are not many oppourtunites to manage barca and especially witht he taletn they have messi, ronaldinho, henry etc.

What would you do? Stay with Everton win a few more trophies and then move on (as i want to move on to a diff league at some point (with the eventual aim of ending up at st marys) or go for barca now while i have the chance?

Save your current game.

Then save another copy called Barcelona.

Then you have a choice.

Depends if you like a challenge. Barca will no doubt give you a ton load of cash to complement an already world-class squad. Winning the league and champions league season after season should not be too tricky.

With Everton, you've just won the league which is great achievement. Question is, can you take it to the next level and compete in the champions league with the likes of AC, Inter, Utd, Barca?

I know which I'd choose.

Hmmm, Catalan or Matalan. That's a tricky one...

Ditch the bluenoses before you become all bitter and twisted

thanks for the advice, was all academic in the end with Barca plumping for Michael Laudrup - was getting ahead of myself there for a bit.

Makes it easier though as the choice was made for me, think i was verging towards staying anyway. And will be looking to push on and retain my trophy-

All started well as well last night had my biggest FM victory (think i had bigger in CM years back am sure i got over 20 in a game) with a 17-0 freidnly thrashing of my aussie feeder team.

just gearing up for the big charity sheild vs Liverpool - against whom i have a great record play 4 won 3 drawn one. Even stuck four past them in one game (though did conceed 3 minaly due to my naievity in wanting to stuff the reds even more!)

I wouldn't risk it. I was linked to the Man City job at Burscough and I expressed interest and was sacked. City ignored me then and I had to join a financially devestated West Ham and hated it for a season until moving on.
