What will it take to get England to qualify for the World Cup?
I'm not sure if this is the place for this discussion, but I'm curious what the fans think it will take for England to make it through and qualify for the World Cup?
Who should be the next coach? Should he be English? Does that matter?
Can England play a 4-4-2 and qualify? Is the formation central to why they didn't qualify for Euro 2008? Or do they need to be more of a team? If there anything to be learned from the Scottish team that came so close to qualifying for Euro 2008?
What is Michael Owen doing in ripping into the Croatian squad? None of them could play for a Premiership squad and yet they twice beet the English side? Doesn't that say more about the state of the English team than the talent of the Croatian one?
I'm just curious what everyone thinks

A competent manager goes a long way! Someone like Jose Mourinho, Capello etc!
The players fail due to fear of failure!

I'm not sure if it is a fear of failure tho. I think it might be that the players are over-confident and sometimes think because they are the glorious English side that they win by just showing up. Owen showed that they don't think much about their opponents. But why don't they play well as a team? I think England has the talent, but there is something holding them back
