i think it could take up valuable time in an already congested fixture list, but at the same time ireland dont really play any 'b' internationals so it would be handy to blood newcomers.
doubt it will last beyond 4-5 years though

Any English involvement would make it the 'Celtic and Saxon Cup'...which dosen't have the same ring to it.

Personally, I prefer a tournament void of violent hooligans anyway.
I didn't know Turkey had been invited? </BLOCKQUOTE>

I think you'll find any mention of 'football' and 'violent hooligans' in the same sentence invariably includes the word 'England' in said sentence

Which may have been fair... 20 years ago. Now? Not so much. Crowd trouble caused by British fans in recent years ?Not a lot. Crowd trouble by Turkish fans? What's the stabbing count now?

Anyone mention Italians yet?

And the French don't even need football to riot over.

Wt will happen if one of these teams qualifies for a future international tournament?

Will it run wth two or three teams?

Or just be cancelled until the next year.

For the record, I think England should have entered, although I doubt we would win it.

England should have entered that way the so called best players in England will be able to play together and the new manager will be able to sort out tactics etc... In my opionion whenever a player puts on an England shirt they go into sleep mode.
