Free Transfer

I am in my first season with Everton and I am trying to get Vagner Love from CSKA Moscow on a free transfer as his contract is up in June. The option approach to sign is available so I click on it and it allows me to make a contract offer for him. The only problem is I have to pay CSKA £6.75million compensation. Could someone please explain this to me? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure.

Its possible that as Russia is not in the EU, they may not be affected by the Bosman Ruling.

Don't quote me on that though.

The only thing is he isn't worth £6.75 million. His value is £2.4 million. Why should I pay 3 times his value?
