am managing milan (2nd season) and looking for an understudy to kaka in the AMC position of a 4-1-2-1-2.
please dont suggest messi, as he would be my #1 choice, he has a £48m release clause which i'd be willing to activate but hes not interested in moving away from barca, been praising him all of the 2008/09 season, even managed to make him unhappy because he the club accepted a bid for him but still nothing, grr!
i already have aguero at the club and his description is playmaker forward and in his positions screen, he can play as AMC, cant remember off hand if its natural of accomplished.
i had kaka tutor him a shortly after he joined so he picked up all of kaka's PPMs and possibly adjusted a few mental traits, which is maybe why hes now a playmaker forward. barring a few stats where his is slightly lower than kaka's, hes like a younger version!
but would there be anyone better to get to play second fiddle to kaka?
offloaded van de vaart to barca so thats a no go, guti has been playing backup recently. not really looked at gourcuff much, hes been out on loan for me usually, should i get him back?
silva looks great stats wise and has a £34m release clause and is willing to discuss terms, so hes definately obtainable but hes only a left footer which i'm not too keen on for a AMC playmaker..
looked at iniesta great stats, but no interest and a £120m clause is a bit out of my price range!
montolivio looks quite good and wanting to sign, but i doubt fiorentina will sell at a reasonable price but i am also the italian manager and i wouldnt be happy at myself for not giving him games at club level which leaves him out of form for international games.
would like someone who wouldnt mind not getting that many games and preferably not older than kaka.
or maybe i should save the money to use somewhere else and use aguero?
Firstly, start using Gourcuff. The kid is amazing and always seems to pop up with goals at the right time. No point wasting him on loan. Play him on the right wing and sometimes as AMC.
If not that, then get Silva. How does it matter if he's left foot or right foot? Wont make a bit of a difference. Compare Silva's and Messi's stats. You'll notice yourself that Silva is actually better at most of the things. Silva has better passing and long shots which I think any good AMC needs. All the other stats are pretty much similar. And Silva's cheaper as well and will take lesser wages. Just get him and he wont disappoint. Use him on the left wing and when Kaka's not playing, as an AMC. Fabulous.
If you still dont like that, then I'd suggest go for Samir Nasri. You'll waste Aguero as an AMC imo. He's just such an amazing forward. Nasri is a brilliant player and he's SO consistent. At one point in my last game, he went (and I kid you not) around 15 games getting a rating of 8 or above. This is in the EPL where its not particularly easy to do that. And it was against all sorts of teams. Fabregas was out with an injury and I was forced to play him all the time. He actually kept Fabregas out for a while even when he returned from injury. The only reason I dropped him to the bench again is because I'm an Arsenal fan! So yeah, highly recommended!
well i play a narrow diamond midfield (DMC,MC,MC,AMC) so gourcuff would have to be at AMC if he came back.
i will check silva out again (and nasri) when i get home, i dont know why, i think that not relying on a single foot is good thing for a playmaker so he'd still be able to make a crucial pass even if he was forced onto his weaker foot.
oh yeah, no doubting aguero's credentials as a striker, in an old save, he managed over 50 goals overall and 33 odd in the league, in his debut season, which is partially why i think he'd make a good super-sub for AMC/ST..
Sorry this is a bit off topic but how does the narrow diamond formation work for you i wanted to play this before but assumed that the opposition wingers would cause too much trouble when attacking.
it *touch wood* works brilliantly for me, as i have my 2 MCs on really high closing down (they obviously have to be very fit players to do this for 90 minutes every week) as my DMC is the playmaker as opposed to normal DMCs that breaks up play, in my formation my MCs do that job.
the AMC is on free role and my DL/DR's both have a farrow to WB position and always forward run to provide width.
