Default [Photoshop CS]Gradient tool question

Loo all. I installed Photoshop CS 2 days ago, before that i used Photoshop 7.

I often used the gradient tool to combine two pics (layers) fading them from one to another.
Now i can remember i had to set the colors in Photoshop 7 "from white to black" (if i'm correct), but now using Photoshop CS i've lost my settings.

Is it possible (i'm almost certain it is) to realise the same effect using the gradient tool in Photoshop CS, and if yes... HOW?!

Thnx in advance...

well if i dont rememer wrong the gradient toll works the same way in ps cs as in ps 7.

and to set the colors to b/w just hit the D button and ypu should get the forground/background colors to black then just make shure that ypu have selected forground to background transperant upp in the menu.

Rock on
