What Nationality did you give yourself in the game Pan? I don't think getting another job is going to be as easy as you think tbh, especially in the Netherlands, unless you've made yourself Dutch when you might have a small chance.

It's a story based on a network game. Would have thought that was pretty obvious.

Rep Power: 0 | Summer break 2007 – Cannes There was a lot of activity at Cannes over the summer with a total of eight new players joining before the first game. There were also eight players on their way out after their contracts expired. Among them veterans Pascal Nouma and Carteron, a few reserves and last years Supporters Player of the Year Lassina Diabaté. The new players coming in hailed from all over the world, ranging from Icelandic left winger Emil Halfredsson to Uruguayan defender Damian Malcaluso. To complete the list, there were also the additions of Spanish defender Cesar Jiminez, Dutch goalkeeper Raymond van Driel, German defender Daniel Halke, English attacking midfielder Gavin Rothery and finally Jeromé Bonnissel all joined on a free transfer. The last man to join was Austrian utility attacker Martin Harnik who joined for the hefty sum of £100,000, a fifth of the total transfer budget.
The pre-season went all right, with two wins, two losses and a single draw. We managed to beat Belgian side Geel by 2-0 and dispatched Rennes’ Reserves 3-1 before losing 4-0 to Paris Saint Germain and 1-2 to Ascoli. The final match was a 0-0 draw with Padova.

July/August – Cannes
[/b]We were billed at 6-4 favourites in our opening game against Montpellier, but we didn’t show much for it. We had two opportunities early on, but both were ruled out for offside. Naturally, the goal promptly fell at the other end when Macaluso gave the ball away needlessly and Lafourcade had no problem with the finish. The guests doubled their margin twenty minutes from time and while substitute Julien Perrin did manage to score a 30-yard free kick, we still went down 2-1.
Our first game in August was against relegated Toulouse and they were simply too good for us, cruising to a 4-0 lead in the first half, helped by dreadful play by Jerome Bonnissel, who was at fault for the first goal and then scored the second himself. We managed to keep it fairly tight in the second half and the promotion favourites only added one more goal for a 5-0 gubbing.
We continued our tough start to the season with a home game against Lorient, 2nd favourite for the league title and while we improved drastically all across the board from the game against Toulouse, we still managed to lose 1-0 after conceding a penalty kick early in the second half. For once though, we actually created some danger and it was loanee Laurent Lenteri, on loan from AS Monaco who was responsible for it.
We were given some respite from the league when we took on Libourne in the League Cup Preliminary Round and despite my decision to send out the reserves we managed a 1-0 win. Libourne, relegated to the National last season, were already looking at the deficit after just twelve minutes when Kevaughn Connell scored from a rebounded Julien Perrin shot. Libourne tried as they might, but were unable to beat van Driel in our goal and we gathered our first win of the season.
We returned to the league just three days later and finally grabbed our first point, away at Le Havre, despite Paul Alo’o Efoulou picking up an early injury. The first half was pretty dull, but things sprang alive in the second and while we went down in the 58th, Halfredsson and Darchy put us ahead in the later stages of the half. Unfortunately though, we were unable to hang on to our lead and with three minutes left, the home side fired one in from distance to share the spoils.
The biggest talking point of the match was the solid debut by £210,000 signing Valdivia, a young defensive midfielder joining from Olympique Lyon. He played well and I certainly hope that the youngster can further improve during the season.

Despite the end of season three successive defeats, our previous thirteen match unbeaten run had given us great hope for the new season. The squad has been significantly strenghtened with other clubs cast offs, without spending a penny. Simply because we do not have a penny to spend. Unlike the millionaire's of Cannes.
Our pre-season began with the visit of parent club Paris SG, and things didn't really go very well. Not only were Guillaume Borne and Mehmet Akyil sent off, but we went down by seven goals to nil. It seems we might be some way short of challenging at the top level in France. Duh.
Things did improve with a decent 3-3 draw against Sochaux reserves, and a good 3-2 win over Utrecht reserves. The other talking point of the summer, apart from those results, was the signing of former PSG player, Laurent Leroy. He should be a decent player for this level.
Our league campaign opened away to Cherbourg. We are going to be much harder to break down this season, because we are playing a lot more defensively than at the start of last. A dull match, but an own goal 13 minutes from time from Cherbourg's Alexandre Herauville gave us all three points, and the start we wanted - and indeed needed.
At home to a side who were fellow relegation strugglers for much of last season, Chatellerault, we were looking for another win, and when on loan PSG player Youssouf Mulumbu and Laurent Leroy sent us two up by the hour, things were looking good. Carelessness crept in though, and two almost hilarious goalkeeping errors meant we ended up with a dissapointing 2-2 draw. This is something we will really need to cut out if we are to be successful.
With Bobbev on holiday - again - a trip to Martigues would possibly be far harder than it would be with the manager in charge. Alan Le Borgne is becoming a key player for us though, and it was he who sent us ahead after six minutes. On half time though, Martigues levelled, but as the match looked to be heading to another draw so Laurent Leroy and left winger Alexandre Raineau scored very late on, and we gained a superb and very valuable win.
Angers are always one of those sides who will be looking to promotion, and so their visit was sure to be a real test of our own credentials. A brace from Alan Le Borgne, and one from Jean Marie Eveno sent us in three ahead at the break. Akyil and Silas Billong added two more in the second period and in the end we had pulled off a superb win. Despite the rising feeling in the media, it is simply way too early to suggest we might be promotion contenders, but we happily sit atop the league.
Whether we can stay there is another matter.
