Harrow Hill (1) Macclesfield (0)
We played 3rd place Macclesfield into the ground today, but thanks to exceptional work from their keeper- Tommy Lee- they stayed even until a dramatic late goal allowed us to take a 1-0 win at Larksfield Road. The match featured the debut of Billy Colton and he created a couple excellent chances, only to see Lee make brilliant saves. We appeared on track for a scoreless draw, despite our strong play, as the match headed into the late stages. David Wareham was the hero today as he volleyed a long cross from Shola Oyedele just inside the left post past Lee for the match winner. Darren Dennehy earned MOM honours for his strong backline play.

In my continuing effort to find quality forwards, I signed 18 year old Alan Hanson off the free transfer list. Hanson was let go from the QPR youth program and has several qualities that led both the scouts and myself to believe he can develop into a solid forward in time. For the moment, he will be learning our system, but I do plan to give him a chance at Senior football.

MK Dons (0) Harrow Hill (1)
This was an absolutely stolen three points for us, as we did not play well enough to really earn the win- but won nevertheless thanks to a sensational effort by MOM Craig Farr. Farr had at least a half-dozen dazzling saves and it was clear he had the home side muttering to themselves as he played certainly one of his best matches ever for us. The lone goal of the match came thanks to a terrible choice by Jay Conroyd as he took down Liam Francis inside the area to give us a penalty kick in first half injury time. Michael Bostwick made no mistakes in converting the kick past Freddie Williams for his 1st goal of the season. We managed a few decent scoring chances in the second half, but MK had much the better of the play overall and were clearly disappointed that they hadn't at least earned a split of the points.

Harrow Hill (3) Darlington (1)
A poor first half where we fell behind was followed by a terrific second half as we stormed back to defeat Darlington 3-1 at Larksfield Road. We sputtered a lot in the first half and left the visitors with entirely too much room to roam in our end. They made us pay for our lackadaisical defensive play when Michael Nardiello deflected a cross inside the far post after David Hall missed intercepting the cross. The entire play was set up by Shola Oyedele being too far up the pitch and failing to hustle back. We didn't really have any worthy scoring chances in the first half, but after a brief chat with the boys- they were much readier to play in the second half. Alex Rhodes missed just wide with an excellent chance, but when he received almost exactly the same chance again minutes later, he whipped the shot inside the far right post for his 1st goal here as we equalized. A good chip pass by Oyedele and a brilliant reception of the lofted pass by Rhodes allowed him to slip past Shaun Cooper and rifle his shot inside the near right post past Sam Russell. After Darren Huckerby's second yellow card late in the match, we added the coup-de-grace when Michael Husbands deflected a cross from Jammal Shahin past Russell. Nick Steer earned the win in our goal and defender Darren Dennehy earned MOM honours as he dominated anything in the air today.

Shrewsbury (1) Harrow Hill (1)
We gave away- in stunning fashion- what should have been a win when a dreadful choice by Dave Woolford nullified a match that we had dominated from the opening whistle on and allowed the home side to escape with a 1-1 draw at New Meadow. We were crisp in the first half and took the lead early on when MOM Billy Colton flicked a header out to unmarked James Henry. Henry put away his shot past Elliot Parrish for his 1st goal at Hill. Shortly after, Bojan Djordjic threw a flagrant elbow into Allan Galbraith and earned an immediate redcard. We worked hard to build on our lead the remainder of the first half and second half, but were unable to get another goal- something that would come back to haunt us. With us trying to play out the clock in injury time, Woolford made a terrible choice to send a backpass toward Craig Farr. This was despite the fact that the home side were flooding men forward and that created the equalizer when Kelvin Langmead picked up the pass and slotted the ball home past Farr. I was furious and though not prone to singling out players for criticism- I privately laid into Woolford about the lack of judgement he used. I hope he takes something from this- and an extended stint on the bench.

We won't be seeing Sam McPherson for awhile now- after he tore his groin in training today. The estimate is at least three months for full recovery from this injury.

Harrow Hill (2) Bury (0)
Good finishing was the key to a 2-0 win over Bury at Larksfield Road that was much closer than the score would indicate. We got off to a flying start when Michael Husbands sent a sizzling cross that Alex Rhodes deflected past Dougie Calder in the opening moments of the match. We had to vigourously defend the lead as Bury poured the pressure on. Craig Farr earned both MOM honours and another clean sheet with an exceptional performance as he made several key saves in both the first and second halves. We moved ahead 2-0 early in the second half when Husbands took a throw-in from Shola Oyedele and moved into the center of the pitch before putting away a 20 yard rocket past Calder. We worked hard in defense after that in helping Farr nail down the clean sheet. Alan Hanson's debut, as he came on for a tiring Husbands, was a bit hazardous as he had to leave after suffering a broken nose. We will also lose Lee Sichi for at least a month with a hamstring injury.

Northampton (1) Harrow Hill (1)
The fans at Sixfields Stadium enjoyed an entertaining match as Northampton battled back for a 1-1 draw with us. The match was evenly played from the start, but we took the lead just before the midway mark in the first half when James Henry hooked a free kick inside the left post past Gary Montgomery. We worked hard to try and keep the lead and managed to make it to halftime scoreless, but we couldn't mark explosive James Sinclair well enough and he volleyed past Craig Farr on a cross from Saulo Asajile for the equalizer. Both sides had opportunities to win the match, but neither side was able to put their shots where they could have counted. David Hall earned MOM honours for us in the match.

Harrow Hill (3) Swindon (0)
A very nice effort by the boys carried us through to a dominating win over Swindon 3-0 at Larksfield Road. It took us awhile to get on the scoreboard, but it wasn't for the lack of opportunities. Steve Morrison gave us the lead late in the first half with an unfortunate own-goal. We added to that in injury time when MOM Jammal Shahin put away a close-in shot past Stephen Henderson. Shahin then returned the favor that Alex Rhodes provided him on his strike with a scorching pass that allowed Rhodes to drive a shot past Henderson in the early moments of the second half. We kept them off the scoreboard to help Craig Farr earn another clean sheet.

Walsall (6) Harrow Hill (1)
I walked out of the dressing room after this embarassing loss to Walsall without saying a word and got on the bus. My only comment when we got off the bus at Mitcheldean was, "If you are ready to come and be serious about playing football, then come to practice tomorrow. If not, let me know and we can find you someplace else to play." The wheels completely fell off in this match. We gave up more goals in this one match than we had given up the entire season to this point (5). MOM Mamady Sidibe ran wild on us as he scored a hat-trick- we had no one who came close to marking him all match. We scored one ourselves as Eamonn Brannan deflected a cross past Craig Farr. Marcus Tudgay and Wes Hoolahan added single markers as they stomped on us- especially in the second half. We were only down 2-1 at halftime thanks James Henry scoring, but just collapsed defensively in the second half. I ended up removing Farr from the match midway through the half- his frustration was very evident and it made no sense to leave him out there.
