23rd September: Celtic v Juventus; Champs League Group Stage

My 100th game in charge of the Old Lady but it was probabaly my worst game I've seen. Cletic overran my team from start to finish and we barely had a sniff of the ball. Our cause wasn't helped as on the 30th minute Gasbarroni got himself sent off for a second bookable offence, what made it worse is that it was two yellow cards within a minute of each other. The second half was much the same as Celtic kept the ball very well and showed some brilliant Scottish play. The deadlock was broken on the 65th minute after some poor possesion play by us. We had no reply to Celtic and our Champions League aspirations look like fading before they even started with us only earning 1 point out of a possible 6

Celtic 1 - 0 Juventus

28th September: Chievo v Juventus

Chievo came out of the blocks the quicker and nearly took the lead within the first minute but luckily Tudor was there to block off the line. We started to get back into the game more but couldn' provide that final killer touch. Chievo again came close to breaking the deadlock but the paint on the upright saved us. At half time I told the players I wanted a bit more passion from them and that they were letting the fans down and more improtantly themselves.
Unfortunatly two minutes into the half Boumsong showed alittle too much passion and got himself sent off for a proffesional foul, from the resulting freekick Chievo took the lead. Instead of wilting my players seemed to get an extra spurt of energy and we started to dominate the game. It took us till the 68th minute to equalise as Palladino sprinted from the halfway line to score. Late in the game my ten men scored with Palladino doing the damage

Chievo 1 - 2 Juventus (Palladino 68, 83)

The great result was ruined by the news that Palladino will be out for about a month after spraining his ankle when coming off the pitch at full time

1st October: Juventus v Catania

We were by far the best team unfortunatly we struggled with our finishing, Nedved was the first player to fluff an effort after being left with only the keeper to beat. This was quickly followed by Del Piero missing. We did eventually score as Lincoln fired home after 39 minutes. At half time I told the players they ahd to do more to finish this game off.
On the 57th minute Catania were reduced to ten men after a second bookable offence and from the resulting free kick Zebina headed us into a 2-0 lead. Five minutes later Maniero fouled a Catania defender, the defender got up and head butted him to earn a straight red card and in the resulting melee Zebina was booted to reduced Catania to eight men. We didn't capitalise and the score remained 2-0

Juventus 2 - 0 Catania (Lincoln 39, Zebina 57)

11th October: Juventus v Empoli

A poor first half as my players seemed to be struggling, our passing wasn't good enough and niether was our finishing. But luckily for us niether was Empoli's. At half time I laid into the players telling them that this sort of performance will not be tolerated. I made a triple substitution with Nedved, Paro and Pezzi all coming on.
It seemed to work as after only three minute Nedved had put us into the lead with a brilliant free kick. The same player ahd a goal ruled offside after 54 minutes , but this didn't deter us as two minutes later we had doubled our lead through Del Piero
It was enough to give us the win but yet again I wasn't happy with how my players had performed

Juventus 2 - 0 Empoli (Nedved 48, Del Piero 56)

14th October: Spartak Moscow v Juventus; Champs League Group Stage

A tough game in Moscow saw us struglle with our passing game on what was a very poor pitch, We did have our chances in the first half but our finishing was letting us down.
At half time I told the players they would need to revert to a long ball game to counter the poor bobbly pitch. The second half was just as bad as my playres still struggled. We however managed to take the lead on the 70th minute as Trezeguet nipped in behind the defence to score. This seemed to calm my players nerves down and we started to play alittle better, However late in the game Spartak equalised after a poor error by Buffon, lady louck was on our side though as two minutes into injury time Maniero fired in the winner

Spartak Moscow 1 - 2 Juventus (Trezeguet 70, Maniero 92)

19th October: Fiorentina v Juventus

My players looked quite tired after there European adventure, we struggled with the flow of the game. We did eventually start to get back into the game, but it was Fiorentina who had the first effort but Buffon managed to get in front of the swerving ball. It was us however who maanged to score first as Trezeguet bundled the ball into the net, luckily the referee didn't see the blatant foul by Trzeguet on the Fiorentina defender. Unfortunatly karma took affect and they equalised within a minute.
The second half was a none event with no real action to report,

Fiorentina 1 - 1 Juventus (Trezeguet 42)

22nd October; Parma v Juventus

Yet again we were away from home. we started well against Parma and nearly took the lead on the 10th minute but Del Piero's shot went wide. On the 14th minute we lost Maniero to a head injury, as I ahd only one striker on the bench I brought on Maroufi, his first touch was a shot that rattled the crossbar. In the 36th minute we broke the deadlock with Nedved scoring a superb free kick,
The second half was a tight affair with Parma coming close to scoring but in truth it was a poor effort, Late in the game we earnt a penalty after Mafouri was fouled in the area by the Fiorentina keeper. Nedved stepped up and gave us the killer second goal

Parma 0 - 2 Juventus (Nedved 36, pen 80)

Injury news see's Maniero out with a skull fracture, he will be missing for up to 3 months, also Del Piero picked up a gashed leg and will be out for about a fortnight

26th October: Juventus v Udinese

A dire game against Udinese saw both teams create very few chances. The first half saw us create the only chance as Lincoln fired wide of the post. Udinses had the best chance in the 2nd half but luckily for us Buffon managed to tip it over the crossbar.

Juventus 0 - 0 Udinese

29th October: Juventus v Spatak Moscow; Champs League Group Stage

We knew how difficult we found it to break down Spartak last time, but this time our passing game was much better and it showed as a brilliant team move gave us our first goal on the 13th minute with Lennon volleying the ball high into Spartak's goal.Eight minutes later Nedved made it 2-0 with a good header from 6 yards. We were cruising and on the 25th minute Trezeguet made it 3-0. Unfortunatly the mood changed for us as on the 33rd minute Lennon had to be replaced after what looks like a bad leg injury. My players didn't let this affect them and on the 39th minute Trezeguet double dhis tally to make it 4-0. The second half was pretty quiet as Spartak shoved all there men back behind the ball to stop anymore goals going in. On the 90th minute Spartak were reduced to ten men after a kick on Nedved, but so were we a minute injury time as Lincoln decided to lunge two footed onto a Spartak player. I was furious with him and will be fining him for his stupidity

Juventus 4 - 0 Spartak Moscow (Lennon 13, Nedved 21, Trezeguet 25, 39)

30th October: Lincoln has accepted his two week fine and apologised to the squad for his lack of discipline. Lennon's injury isn't that bad and will only miss a week with a bad dead leg

1st November: Sampdoria v Juventus

We started very well and after only 13 minutes we took the lead as Trezeguet scored a long range effort which beat the Sampdoria keeper brilliantly, We were in control of the game but our finishing was letting us down, On the 39th minute Sampdoria put the ball into the back of the net but the referee dissallowed it for a foul on Buffon
The second half was another close half as Sampdoria decided to be abit more adventurous, luckily my defence was on top form and kept them out well, we scored again on the 79th minute but had it ruled out for offside

Sampdoria 0 - 1 Juventus (Trezeguet 13)

5th November: Juventus v Piacenza; Italain Cup 1st Round 1st Leg

We again started well with Piacenza looking sluggish, It took us till the 12th minute to open the sscoring with a good header from Trezeguet. Del Piero had a chance but Piacenza's defender performed a brilliant last ditch tackle. Piacenza started to get back into the game and were causing us some problems, luckily Boumsong amanged to keep them at bay, I say Boumsong because the rest of the defence might aswell not bothered being there for what use they were

The second half was only four minutes old when Pezzi scored but his effort was ruled harshly offside. However we managed to double our lead as Tudor headed home on the 53rd minute, unfortunatly our concentration let us down and Paicenza managed to pull a goal back. This seemed to lift them and we started to put on the back foot, they were all over us but luckily yet again Boumsong came to our rescue. Against the run of play we made the game safe on the 91st minute as Nedved fired in from long range, a good win but I'm worried about how my defence has been

Juventus 3 - 1 Piacenza (Trezeguet 13, Tudor 53, Nedved 91)

16th November: Juventus v Torino

After 11 days off due to internationals we faced our local rivals Torino, They had the first shot with a brilliant 20 yard daisy cutter, but luckily the post got in the way. Pezzi then had a shot turned over by the Torino keeper. On the 22nd minute the first goal went in and it was Nedved who had the honours as he fired from long range.
The second half was only 10 minutes old when we doubled our lead as Del Piero chipped the Torino keeper to send the home crowd wild. It was enough to give us a good win

Juventus 2 - 0 Torino (Nedved 22, Del Piero 55)
