Arsene Wenger announced to the squad that they would be leaving for their annual pre-season tour to Austria soon. Ben was included in the squad, but he had a few questions. So he went to the gaffer's office.

Ben: Erm, boss, there's something I want to ask you about.

Wenger: Yes, Ben? What is it regarding?

Ben: It's about the trip Sir.

Wenger: What about it?

Ben: Erm, I was just wondering, can I bring my girlfriend along?

Wenger (looking surprised): Why would you want to do that Ben?

Ben (looking a bit nervous): Erm...er...I..I just thought that she might be lonely if I leave her behind Sir.

Wenger: Don't be ridiculous. We're not going to Austria for fun and games. We're going there to prepare ourselves for the next season. I don't want any distractions while we're there.

Ben: But...but Sir, I'm worried about her...

Wenger (cutting Ben off): No! Look, you're either going alone or you're not going at all.

Ben (furious): Fine! Then I'm not going then!

Wenger: Fine! Get out of my office!

Ben: I will!

Ben's volatile temper got the better of him once again, and he stormed out of the office, not realising what he had done.

Ooh, a bust up! What will happen to Ben? Is his career coming to a premature end, before it has even begun? Stay tuned...

"You what?!" Rachel screamed when she found out what he had done.

"Hey, I did this because of you all right?" Ben shouted back, still unrepentent.

"That's ridiculous! Why the hell would you do something like that? Do you think I will be unable to cope without you? It's only a few days for goodness sake!" Rachel was aghast.

"I..." Ben tried to speak, but was cut off.

"Do you not trust me? Do you think I will do something stupid? You are such a silly boy Ben! Do you know what this will mean for your career?" she continued her rant.

It was only now did Ben realise what he had actually done, and the potential consequences.

"That's just the most pathetic thing you've done Ben. Are you out of your mind?" Rachel was trying to knock some sense into Ben.

Ben stayed silent. He was suddenly feeling scared now. Scared of what he had done, and very scared that he had just dealt his dream career a fatal blow because of his stupidity.

"You'd better go back now and apologise." Rachel ordered.

"I can't." Ben replied softly.

"Why not?" she asked.

"They've already left for Austria. All the players and coaching staff." Ben explained.

"Alrite then. You go back and apologise the minute they return." came the reply.

"Okay..." Ben sighed. He hoped that it wasn't too late to save his career.

Interesting way to shape a story. I am a firm believer of using an fm game to shape your stiry, however you are doing a great job of this so far.

Looking forward to more and I hopw you don't lose your momentum.

Hey hey, he's only young. :p

For the record, I just started a game on FM with Arsenal. Although there's no Ben Cee in that game, I may probably use that game as a basis for the matches I write about.

EXCLUSIVE! BEN CEE AND WENGER IN BUST UP!
- The Sun
Arsenal defender Ben Cee was left out of the team squad that headed out to Austria for pre-season training yesterday. Reports have mentioned that the young Singaporean had an amazing bust up with manager Arsene Wenger over Ben's 'girlfriend'. Apparantly Wenger refused permission for Ben to bring his girl to Austria, which infuriated Cee and led to the argument. Could this finally mean the end of this young man's Arsenal career?

The word 'finally' in that last sentence really hit Ben hard. Once again the press went all out to put Ben in a bad light. Although this time it really was his fault, so he really couldn't complain.

Rachel was slightly apologetic for ticking Ben off, but she wanted him to see what he did wrong. She tried to comfort Ben afterwards, saying that everything will be all right, and he had to muster up the courage to go up to Wenger and apologise.

But Ben was really, genuinely scared. If he's released there won't be many clubs willing to take him on, and he would have to go back to Singapore. His career would effectively be over, before he had even kicked a ball.

Needless to say, Ben could hardly sleep a wink for the rest of the week, as he waited for the team to return from Austria.

You know, I was watching Goal The Movie, and I found the story to be uncannily similar...

Ben rushed to the stadium the moment he heard news of the team returning from their trip.

As he made the familiar walk up the corridor to Wenger's office, he felt a slight shiver go down his spine. He had never felt so nervous and scared in his life. Nevertheless, he mustered up the courage to knock on the manager's door.

'Knock knock'

Wenger: Come in.

Ben: Er...Hi Sir.

Wenger: Yes Ben.

Ben: Sir, I just want to apologise for what I've done a week ago. I know it was wrong, and I'm very regretful about it. I hope you give me a second chance.

Wenger: Hmm...

Ben: Please Sir. I promise I won't do it again.

Wenger: You know, I'm really glad you came to apologise. I have big plans for you this season you know. It would be a waste if I have to let you go and ruin those plans because of something silly like that, wouldn't it?

Ben couldn't believe his ears.

Wenger: Just be sure you keep that promise about not doing it again, all right?

Ben: Certainly Sir!

Ben was delighted that he was forgiven. Certainly was a close shave, and a lesson learnt.

Wenger: One more thing. Our Emirates Cup tournament is coming soon. I'm including you in our squad for the first game against Inter. Please, please, do not let me down.

Ben: Thank you Sir! Thank you very much!

Ben was elated. He could not stop beaming as he made his way out of the office and to the training ground.
