Was a little bit hilarious from 4-1 up to lose, possibly should have gone more defensive but tbh such a turnover is simply ridiculous. Would never happen in real life

England, my England - the Bert Morton Story Post #13
Pompous upstarts who had dared to win the World Cup more times than any other country, who had dared to take football to their hearts and make it their own. Anyone would think Brazil invented football with their arrogance and their brilliant play and their seeming endless conveyor belt of incredible talent.
Bastards.
But we'd show them. It was only a friendly, but the new look England side, back on course to win the....... back on course to qual..... the new look England were off to Brazil to teach those Samba boys a lesson. Which they did.
There was only one goal in this match, and came from Vagner Love on the 25th minute. A lucky, fluke a free kick that somehow curved round the wall as if by magic. And England were beaten. Well not really beaten, more.. well, beaten.
But it mattered not. The experience of almost coming close to beating the Brazilians in their own back yard was sure to boost the morale of these young brave English soldiers, upon whom the hopes of the greatest footballing, nay the greatest everything, nation on earth rested.
These youngsters had fully proven themselves and there was no way back now for the likes of Cole and Beckham. Certainly not Beckham.
