Farce of a decision robbed us of the point we went out and took. Farce. Of course, nobody will ever have to answer for it, like McFadden says, they didn't want us at the tournament, so it's all OK at UEFA.

Look Iain, we can't have Italy or France going out, think of UEFA's cash cow.

Still, on the bright side, England have McLaren until next June, barring an hilarious defeat on Wednesday

While their second goal was the result of a crap decision, Robson was offside to get the equaliser so they sort of cancel each other out, McFadden should of scored in the last 10 minutes and the results could of been so much different.
Dont get me wrong, I effing hate Italy and hope they get smashed in the Euro's.
On another note the Aussie's had a good 1-0 win over Nigeria so not all is lost |

| Lads, hate to say it, but if you want to be the best in any walk of life, excuses and conspiracies have to go out the window. One of the reasons why the home nations (including England) fail is because we're always feeling hard done by. Get out there and cheat like everyone else and then stop whining when we get beat. Like someone mentioned, for every bad decision against that gets magnified, there's a bad decision in our favour that everyone conveniently forgets about (I'm thinking particularly of cheating bastards New Zealand at rugby who whine when they get hoisted on their own petard) |

One of the other things I noticed was it's never a good idea to build things up in the media. I was watching the BBC website coverage in the build up to the Scotland Italy game, and it was pretty over the top.
I thought McCleish and Scotland made a mistake hyping everything up. It must surely have put extra pressure on Scotland's players. In contrast Italy's camp were pretty much silent.
I reckon we never learn our lesson in the UK as far as over hyping goes. It's always counter productive.

Here we go again. One of the home nations perform bravely during the qualifers, giving us hope then fall at the final hurdle. (Wales 2004 anyone?)
And then England, being the biggest Home Nation, stumble through the qualifers then by some miracle, qualify by the skin of its teeth.
Typical.

| No conspiracy! I don't think the ref was paid off, he just made a ludicrous decision which UEFA will be happy with. It was incompetence and he should have had the balls to overrule the idiot linesman.
You can forgive a couple of errors on tight offsides calls, whether for or against, more readily than such a blatant error. I don't see any way you can say that was a foul by Hutton, no way at all.

Fact is, no matter what the referee does we still have to defend the free kick which we didn't. That wasn't the refs fault. And if we hadn't been so pathetic in Georgia it might not even have mattered, although I still think France would win in Ukraine of they have to.
So whose gonna be the new Scotland manager then?
