after the window closed, Van Der Vaart declared that he wanted to leave HSV, and was listed for just £7.5M. i bid for him despite having only £5.5M to spend. he accepted the contract and obviously the transfer was delayed due to lack of funds. the board refused to give me a little more money to buy him, and then the deal was cancelled. roma then signed him for £13M.
this also happened in my Madrid game in fm07. i had £22M to spend on transfers, messi demanded a transfer and was listed for £25M. the deal was delayed then rejected after i pestered the boad for the extra £3M, and he was sold to Roma for £37M.
There's a lesson to be learned here... be Roma
But yes, some excellent ideas there. Particularly like 2 + 3. 1 would be a bit more difficult, because generally I don't even know who I'm going to buy until I look around a bit. But it would still work.
I've been asking for the ability to have some sort of contact with the board about giving just an extra £2m or so for ages. But these ideas are even better :thup:
