I chose a large database but only chose Spain, England and Italy and France as playable leagues. Say if I choose the A-league as a playable league, would I get more players?

The more leagues you choose, the more players will be initially viewable.

yes ok, but does the more leagues you select alot the speed the game runs at alot?? or does it not make alot of difference??

The more leagues you select as "playable", the more players there will be (because all players from the league are included), but the slower the game will be because all fixtures and AI decisions for those leagues are calculated in depth.
