when exactly can I start offering contract to a player?I'm in mid jan now and there are a couple of plyrs whos contract runs out in june 30th, but i cant sign them on pre-contracts yet. I had a plyr who was poached for free and i'm really looking to turn the tables

But the rules have changed, depending on the countries involved. It's something like 6 weeks before the contract is up for english players (not really sure to be honest).

The best tip I can give you is that attach notes on those players. You have an option of reminder saying that remind me when contract is unprotected. With this you will be reminded the very same day his contract becomes unprotected if his manager allows that to happen

You can only sign players from England (and maybe some other countries also) starting 6 weeks before the end of their contract. Players based in other countries can be signed on a bosman starting 6 months before their contracts run out.
