I am managing Sheff Wed in the Championship. I have assembled a squad with two powerful target-man type strikers. One with jumping 18, strength 17 and heading 14, the other 20, 20, and 10 (and slow as molasses).
I've built some tactics around them playing as target men, but the problem I'm having is this typically results in them winning tons of headers, but the results of those headers are just being collected by the opposition. I can't seem to figure out the best way to align my tactics so that these headers make their way to my other offensive players.
If your using your target man to finish off moves then ou need to get him as close to the goal as possible and get the ball up in the air os you need:
Wide formation with pacey wingers and a good cross, set to get getting ot the byline and aimed at targetman with high attacking mentality.
If you want a targetman to bring others into play you can lower his mentality, tell him to hold up the ball and play through balls, with forward runs and run with ball rare. You can play in variying formations around him and he will try to link the forward players.
