The team talk is useless really because "nothing specific noted"
I mean whats the point of doing them if all I get is "nothing specific noted" everytime.
Prematch I say
Do it for the fans - "nothing specific noted" or
Good luck - "nothing specific noted"
If at half time I mean winning its either
Pleased or encourage and all I get is - "nothing specific noted"
At full times I say (if I won)
Well done/please - - "nothing specific noted"
If I lost/draw
Disappointed or sympathy - "nothing specific noted"
Sometimes I get "Don't seem to be listening" when I praise them or say well done
So what is the point of me clicking them and trying to motivate them? If they don't get an reaction?
Sometimes if I dont do any team talk I get confused/unhappy??
So what does the players what? I do team talks but I get "nothing specific noted" or dont seem to be listening. If I dont do team talk they get confused or unhappy.
The teamtalk seems like a pointless gimmick feature of selecting either "Do it for the fans" or "Wish them luck"

And ps, the feature is far from useless. A half-time rollocking has turned many a game, i've found. Many a point has been salvaged thanks to a refocused team fresh from the team talk.

True... But it's very much a lottery since you only find out after the match how they reacted to your team talk. And from this point of view Fred's right.
If you were actually standing in front of a team you'd immediately see their reaction to your team talk (and if you noticed one or two who either weren't listening or seemed upset for whatever reason by what you'd said you'd be able to do something about it there and then).
A possible improvement would be to split the team talk into two parts. First the overall team talk, followed by immediate feedback on the players' reactions. Following this the opportunity to speak to individual team members if you felt they need either more encouragement or perhaps a few harsh words to wake them up.

the thing is if you were standing there and could see their reactions to a rollicking and they were upset would you really go. 'oooh i'm sorry i didn't mean it, i've got faith in you'
your never going to be able to take back the initial rollicking so although you cant' see their reactions straight away i don't think you would be able to put in another team talk.
it would be good to be able to put one team talk in and see instantly what the reaction was though.
not so you could put another team talk in but so that you could sub a player early if necessary.

True..... But what about the infamous "seemed demontivated" you get from time to time? It absolutely guarnatees that player will have an awful game and IRL it's the exact type of reaction you'd pull the player in question aside for and have a private word with him. You wouldn't just send him out to play badly would you?
Perhaps we need an extended set of options for individual comments as well though?

at the same time i don['t think it's something taht a manager who knows his players would allow to happen.
ic you know your player response poorly to certain things then you dont talk to him like that.
obviously as a new manager we dont know that yet but if ramos gives keane at tottenham a poor team talk that demotivates him i dont see ramos calling him aside to give a personal chat about how he trusts him.
the demotivation at the time has already happened.
