Ok this is my first negative post on this forum ever,and that say`s a lot.But here goes.There is definetely something wrong with the match engine,and by that i mean there is many things wrong.Others have mentioned shots on goal ratio,vs goal and superkeeper.Some have mentioned defenders not pressing,and so on.I say,there is something wrong with the sliders somehow.Maybe they dont work,maybe they are reversed?And what about players inteligence,i say they are many times dumber than in fm07.These are things you notice almost right away,maybe as a hunch maybe as bad feeling.What i am 100% shure of is that this engine is much inferior to the latest 07 engine,and that si knows about this and is probably having a meeting tomorrow about this,The latest one only a guess ofcourse.But i am pretty shure that there will be a new patch pretty soon,probably before christmas.And to all those screaming for proof,and screen.You know deep inside i am right
1. the so called "super-keeper" arent anything new in FM08, they were in 06 AND 07 AND real life
2. If defender over-commit and miss their tackle, their opponent will have a open goal, and I hope you understand the 1st duty of the defender is to keep himself between the opponent and the goal, not the other way round.
3.you forget to say "in your opinion" when you say this match engine is inferior, how many games did you play? did you play any one in full match mode? if not then please dont post nosence.
4. Do you work for SI and know their internal affairs? if not, dont post nosence again.

what's wrong with the sliders? you say maybe they dont work or maybe they're reversed.
if it was either of those they would have completely different responses so surely you must be able to tell which it is?
i like the match engine.
all though the one thing that does annoy me is the keepers inability to pick up a ball that's rolling to them 2 inches away. instead relying on a member of the oppo to run 30 yards to pass it to him.
I personally thought the original engine was best, bar the disallowed goals, etc. 8.01 just stinks to me. I can't imagine why SI have made the game so difficult. I know everyone, ArseneFM in particular is going to pounce and say it's not, but this year's game for me has been the most absolutely, unequivocal disappointment in gaming. And I play Pro Evo.
Even more frustrating than being they're wrong by the likes of ArseneFM and DamianY2J is the fact that no-one from SI seems to care as much to answer anyone on the subject. And by answer I don't mean "we don't think there is an issue", I mean empathise with a customer and acknowledge their frustration.
