Default Indirect Free Kicks

I have been a fan of this series for some time, but the crazy proliferation of indirect free kicks has always bothered me. First of all I am a referee. I know that referees rarely give indirect free kicks, because I rarely give IFKs, all other referees I have seen rarely give IFKs to include professional referees in Britain. An IFK is indicated by the referee by his hand being held straight up until the kick touches another player. Realistically, referees at professional level give IFKs for two reasons 1. Offside 2. Dangerous play (mostly sparked by a high boot). Although obstruction (impeding the progress of an opponent in the laws of the game) is a foul that requires an IFK restart, the "Advice to the Referee on the Laws of the Game" produced in my country tells the referee to consider "if physical contact occurs, the refereee should, depending on the circumstances, consider instead the possibility that a charging infringment has been committed (direct free kick)". Nevertheless There seems to be at least one caution issued per game for a player "clearly obstructing ___________" within each game of FM that I play. It just seems highly unrealistic to me that IFKs are a factor in this game.

if it's a possibility irl it has to be in the game.

Derby arent ever going to get into the champions league, at least in the next year or so, but in my game, I just set up a date in the knockout phase with bayern. Unrealistic, but its part of the game.

Basically, if its a possibility, it's going to be in the game - If there was no code for IFK, would you moan that there wasnt? We all know that referees are always wrong unless they are bald and italian

cant win if you do, cant win if you don't.

Do they have to happen so often? Seriously. Realism is important. Since IFKs are no factor in real life, should they artificially become a factor in FM? I personally don't think so. And my favorite thing about Collina's baldness is his lack of eyebrows.
