i think the game is fantastic and it fixes most of the bugs but i agree that the top strikers miss incredible chances all the time. im not complaining because im not really suffereing and im still winning the league but with the chances ive had i should be absolutely storming it.

and whats annoying its always agaist the lesser sides. just drew with portsmouth 1-1 battered them had 17 shots 10 on target and guess what there keeper foster gets a 8 and mom.

I haven't experienced any prolonged period where opposition keepers are amazing. Surely it's right that now and then if a keeper has a good game that he gets man of the match?

This is a terrbile argument, I aren't playing the game because i prefer 07 just to be clear. But your striker has 4 in 6? thats a good return.

I wish people who were unhappy had better arguments, that way maybe some more of the criticsm would filter through properly and make things get better.

Van der vaart quite clearly isnt settled in after 6 games, i have had players who take a season to settle down.

Oh and by the way i saw tevez miss for man utd yesterday from 6 yards.

And just so its not a one off blackburn did it today, think it was bentley, so is it not so realistic still?

All this and i hate the game lol, i prefer 07 and i am defending 08!

Some players adapt more easily, some players adapt hard or very hard. I had Nicolae Dica, a Romanian playmaker, which I bought for 2.7 million euros, who scored me 2 goals in the first match, and adapted very quickly, and he is just over half the force that Van der Vaart is.

About the goalkeepers, it's not just the NEC goalkeeper, it's almost all good goalkeepers, including mine, who are incredibly good, and parry almost everything. (so good, that Barcelona gave offered me 19 million euros for him)

Technical attributes. FM 2007, Gaetano D'Agostino. Bought him for 10 million euros before the summer transfer market opened. He had 2 months to train with my system and his new colleagues. Pre-season friendlies he was perfect, but when it came to the regular season, he was complete rubbish. After 10 games, he didn't have a game form bigger than 7. Gave him a rest, and after 3 matches, I put him in again. He scored, and put up for an assist, but the next 5 games, he was rubbish again. Done the same thing again, same thing happened. I finally sold him in the winter transfer period for 3.5 million euros. He was almost perfect at technical attributes, fairly good at mental ones and average at physical. But he was a big bust.

Also, the very interesting thing with the closing down bug is that if you had a striker with good finishing, he would be deadly. Edgar Manucharyan (unknown Armenian striker; Ajax) won Player of the Year award for scoring 13 goals in 18 appearances, including an amazing hat-trick in the second half of Ajax - AZ (3-1 for me).

nah. you will find that most of those moaners will come back and say "but i've won champions league 50 times, etc etc, but the game still suck because my left back doesnt have a 87% success rate in crossing"

Some fair points in the original post, pity they were all brought forwards in a terrible fashion.

AI Goalkeepers seem to 'raise their game' often, compared to Human Goalkeepers. This may partly be down to the fact that most Human teams are probably creating far more chances, and thus giving the Goalkeeper more saves to make. However, sometimes the Goalkeepers are a little good, to the point where you know you wont score no matter what.

The stats thing is also a fair point, although the evidence provided is stupid.

It is fair to see that stats play a lesser part in the latest edition of FM, compared to previous versions. The team talk seems to play almost as much part in whether your team wins as the stats of the players, as well as their overall mood.

I think a not so good team with Superb morale and a perfect teamtalk would do better than a team with immense stats are not so great morale/team talk.

I think these things need to be addressed through fine tuning, not through knee jerk reactions and stupid reasons given in threads like these.

There are issues, but lets all get together and gather evidence and discover patterns to help SI locate it and show where the problem resides, rather than senseless whining which only gets everyone going around in circles.

What are you looking for? 6 goals in 4 matches instead? well, you can see, Barca, how many goals has Henry scored until now? Well, I know when you play FM07, your FWs score a lot. 70 goals in 50 matches. However, does it happen in real life?
You can check your tactic, setting. I brough Vaart, play 28 matches, assit 21, score 17 goals.
About goal keeper, look at Iker Casillas or Buffon, they dont have max or nearly max alot of stat, but face one-on-one and score, not many FWs in game can do that. Chance to convert to goal depend on position of FWs when facing GK, composure, finishing etc...
And I dont think the acceptable price for players is too high, unless they dont want to sell their players. I brough Vaart for £15M, David Villa for £23.5M, Berbatov for £12.5M, but Messi for £41M.
