Rep Power: 0 | What's the latest word on tutoring?
We've had this feature for awhile now but I'm still not comfortable with it. The hardest thing seems to be knowing whether two players will get along or not. Just matching the 'Personality' attribute doesn't seem to be enough.
Has anyone ever compiled everything we know about this and is there any definitive advice?

You can hire an assistant manager/youth coach with good "working with yongster" and view their coaching report. In that report they MAY recommend the tutor for that youngster
However it may not always be right.
the INFLUENCE of the tutor must be high for him to be a successful tutor, the tutor also best to be 27-30+ so he actually HAS experience to pass on
the DETERMINATION and WORK RATE of tutor must be higher than the youngster otherwise the youngster will be studying their tutor and become lazy

I have given up on tutoring players. My star striker didn't get along with the two hot youngsters I had him tutor, he was listed as disliking them and after considering his options for a while decided he wanted to leave the club, forcing me to unload the kids in order to keep him.
I'd rather take my chances that they develop well on their own than risk having to get rid of them cause they **** off my number 1 goalscorer. Although I do think it's a little stupid he can't just suck it up, kinda stupid he would let a couple 16 year olds drive him out of the clubs.

| I agree that it is unclear how to know whether two players will get on. But in FM 2007 there was a way around a player disliking another and wanting them to leave or else - you just offered the player a new contract, and he stopped disliking. Dunno if that works in FM 2008 yet.

| Let him train on his own and monitor his development. If he doesn't develop then get rid of him.
