As a precursor to this, I promise not to let myself descend too much into a "blah blah blah the game won't let me win" rant.
I seem to be incapable of doing anything but draw in a large proportion of games, pre- and post-patch. I'm managing Chelsea so it's not like I have a lack of quality to execute my ideas on the hypothetical tactics blackboard.
First season: 3rd Pl 38 W 18 D 15 L 5
Pretty much the most frustrating season of my CM/FM career.
Now I'm not trying to claim this is unrealistic (although rather unlikely; Avram Grant has shown any idiot can get Chelsea winning) but it is the manner of these draws that is so disturbing:
I can essentially tell from the first 5 minutes whether it will be a draw or not, regardless of substitutions or tactical alterations I may implement. I may go 1-0 up in said fateful match but 2 minutes later guaranteed the opposition will score some outrageously scrappy goal to equalise. It literally feels unavoidable.
In the majority of these matches I will have 20+ shots on goal, dominate the match, create an array of good chances (there's been a lot of chat of good/bad chances but these are good chances), but their 'keeper will come away with the MOM.
Essentially I was wondering whether this was a) a bug b) a bug but because I didn't start a new game after the patch was released it didn't properly implement the fix c) me being arse at this particular version of this game.
Some screenshots:
Villa Sunderland Reading Liverpool Pompey Hammers Derby Boro Birmingham Barca Arsenal Arsenal (again) Arsenal (again again)
These are all from one season.
Second season (w/ patch), I am 12 games in and already:
Spurs Sunderland Strasbourg Pompey Newcastle
I'm sorry that's a lot to digest but I thought it best to give as much info as possible. I basically just want some opinions on whether this may actually be something wrong with the game or not. If it's not then I can at least get my head down and try to improve my tactics in the knowledge that the game isn't conspiring against me!
Cheers,
Freddie
