How to install kits, logos, player pictures etc.
Stupid question probably, but I don't have any graphics folder at all, neither in my documents/si/fm2008 or my computer/programfiles/si/fm2008. Am I supposed to create a graphics folder myself? In which case, where?

And yes. You need to create the graphics folder yourself.

lee50_10 I didn't have to create any seperate folders in graphics. I did it though, to get a better overview of the different things. Didn't matter what I called the folders.

When the Resource Tool is released you will be able to just drop an FMF file into your My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008 directory and it should work.

im about to sound very silly here but, what do i have to call the kits i have made for the game to realise what team they are for? is it the unique ID of the team or something?

No, you need a config file to map the filename to a unique id in the game.
