Hi,

I really DO like the new skin very much, but a LOT of player cut-outs look like they have been cut out by amateurs. Really awful stuff. Check this example:

I know how difficult it is to cut out people with their haircut all over the place, but if it can't be done nicely, don't do it...

Make your own facepack, get someone elses or stop whining.

Believe me, I found MANY (in fact, the majority is pretty awful), but I can hardly upload 1000 examples, can I? That why people use EXAMPLES: it's to show you one specific thing, which represents a larger issue.

And I am perfectly able to make much better cut-outs myself, but it's very time consuming. SI can't expect customers to do work that they were unable to do properly. It would be the same to have a really out-dated database and to say: don't cry about it, you have an editor: make the database up to date yourself or download a database that has been updated by another customer.

Sorry davidbowie, I don't mind criticism, but I really think you're dead wrong about this one.

P.S. But I'm very glad you agree that the example I uploaded is a 'bad cutout'. Like I said, there are MANY more.

have you looked at the guys hair?...so messy it's hard to cut out

Some of the facepack are already in the .fmf files. Yes I agreed that majority of the facepack that available in the .fmf file are bad and could be better once the the FM2008 official release...

This example was from the official full FM2008 release...yet it looks like a nine-year-old did it (using MS Paint...). And I just think it's inexcusable to let customers pay 50 euro's for a product with graphics like these. I know that graphics have never been the core of FM and never will be, but leave them out if this is the standard...

Anyway, once that fmf-unzip tool will be released I will delete all player-images that came with FM, so that solves my problem. And like I said in the title of the thread, I really do like the new skin, so it's not a huge issue for me. I just wanted to let SI know that the people they have hired to do the cut-outs are not up to it. Hiring little children maybe cheap, but it shows...

Or you could just change the "Show Staff Pictures" in the display options in the preferences menu to "none" and stop bitching.

No I couldn't, because it would prevent me from seeing the face-gen pics, which I DO like very much. You see, I do like a lot of things and find it very harsh that you accuse me of whining. I just tell what I do like and what I don't like and you know just as well as I do that if ANY other company released a game with graphics like the one I showed you (and there really are many more examples) wouldn't get away so easily.

I'm perfectly ok with the fact that bad cut-outs don't bother you, but you could at least admit that the quality on offer is just not good enough.
