Stopping full backs from closing down....?

I want both of my full backs to completely drop off and never EVER close down the opposition winger. Creative freedom is set on 0. Same as closing down. They are set to be as defensive as possible.

So, what am I missing? How do I stop the FBs from closing the opposition down?

I Think It has something to do with the defensive line. The Deeper the DL you players start very late to defend. Also try with tackling easy...

Tried both actually. Put the defensive line as deep as possible and tackling easy. No change. They still try and close down the wingers!

there must be some way of doing this!

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.
