For some reason dropping down deep makes him have less of the ball so I would lower his creative freedom if it's high, and take away his 'freerole' if it's ticked.

On another note: I was feeling lazy so I decided to let my Assistant Manager play against Chelsea(Community Shield) and Rooney scored a hat-trick . So if all else fails, just pick a starting 11 and let your assistant take care of it.

Everything else on mixed.

so far in about 9 games for me he has about 5 MOTM and 7 or 8 goals.
