Default Should SI release a fix for the shots/goals ratio

Does anyone think that SI should release a fix just for the shots/goals ratio as it does seem a little unrealistic!
Everything else is fine in my opinion but the super goalkeepers thing is silly, keepers have bad games, look at carson the other night, however on fm it seems keepers play too well too often and seem to save almost everything.

My team had 22 shots, of those 15 shots on target. I scored 2 goals. I lost the game 3-2.

BUT! One of my strikers had 5 shots on target and scored 1, the other striker had 4 shots on target and scored 1. The rest of the shots were by players who either have poor finishing, composure, long shots, or a mixture of those stats.

Now I bet if you had that happen, you would complain about it but then I also bet that had you instead had only had a total of 9 shots on target but they happened to have been only by those two strikers and they had scored 2 yet had won, you would not be complaining.

I said it in another thread and I will say it here too. If you want anything to be done or really think there is a problem, you need to actually provide data.

If Lampard had the most shots in the world cup, obviously he should score the most goals! it would be so unrealistic otherwise wouldnt it? lol

You need to be looking at which players are having the shots as well as just looking at your overall shots on target to goals ratio.

I'm not really moaning just giving my opinion on what i have seen so far although i am going to record the stats over a season, I'm not having a go at SI, they done a good job with the patch and the game is better and the match engine is improved it's just this issue that i find annoying and the super goalkeeper thing.

I hear you mate. No matter how sh*t the keepers are they always seem to have absolute blinders against you. You'll be lucky to even score 1 whilst the AI get one chance and beat your goalie with no problems, no matter how good he is. It's quite ridiculous but other than that qualm I'm very happy with the patch.

I don't think this is an easy fix. They can't just allow strikers to convert more since that will lead to high scoring games. SI needs to really analyze the match engine to figure out why so many chances are created.

It's a shame that the effort was not put into the match engine for FM08. But thank goodness we have match flow and a great new skin.

Its great that we have posters like you! A real asset! An easy fix for what? Analyze what? I have already said my strikers seem to be converting 1 out of 3 or 4 shots on target, that to me is far from broken.

Too many people are failing to look at what is going wrong with their tactics. Too many long shots or the wrong players are shooting. If your midfielders and defenders are the ones getting in all the shots, are you surprised that your not scoring many?

Fix your tactics.

Fix your tactics. What a typical response from a fanboy.

My tactics have everyone on rarely on long shots and low CF. I've also varied tempo, mentality and passing to no avail. So what else can I do to reduce the amount of long shots attempted?

There's been plenty of talk in the tactics and bug forums. Maybe you should read them before blaming tactics.

As I mentioned on another thread Man U are currently running 26 shots per goal after 13 games, Man City are close to the same. (yes thats real world ie for every goal scored they are taking 26 shots that dont score, thats pretty close to the in-game stats I see people whining about)

Do people actualy watch/follow real football? Or do they just log on to complain how they THINK it's played? ;p

I actually think FM has had too few shots/chances for too long now. Seems to be a lot more post-patch so that's a good thing IMO. Before you'd be lucky to get 12-15 shots, but that's not very rare IRL.

Hopefully this will also reduce the "1 shot, 1 goal" feature.

LOL so because im playing as nottingham forest and scoring on average 1 goal per 3 or 4 shots on target, that makes me a fanboy?

I have read the bug forums, I have also seen almost everyone who complains fails to ever post screenshots or stats about who is taking those shots on target.

I tweaked my tactics, my shots on target actually went DOWN, yet I now score more. Why? because the people taking those shots are the people with the best scoring stats and the ball is being delivered the right way. Its not going to the head of two fast strikers with no heading skill or crossed to the feet of a big slow tall guy who is fantastic in the air.

If your going to complain, atleast back up your claims with some STATS and not just calling me a "fanboy" because I have the brains to look into more detail than just shots vs goals.
