Personally I'd unaffiliate myself from Arsenal at my earliest possible convenience.

The definition of "best" is very subjective, though.

Some would say a big merchandising feeder, others would point to a club with many good players and youths, for the "first-option" or even the "free movement" benefits.

Personally, I like to extend my feeders for a larger and more comprehensive scouting network.

in fm07 i was liverpool and asked for an affiliate. i got offered a small italian club who were in the top italian league.

obviously i accepted as i could ship players needing WP's off to them and they could play against top teams.

You would have to gauge two important factors in that case.

- Training facilities: If you send players to your affiliates, they train there, under their coaches. If the staff and facilities there are sucky, your players might suffer as a result.

- Match time: If you want to send a keeper to your affiliate, and have the choices of Luton and, say, Willem II, which club will actually play him? In most cases you'd want your player(s) to be playing as much as possible.
