If you want to start a game with one of those teams the that's entirely up to you, don't let anyone else put you off.

Although I always end up manageing a really small team eventually I always play my first save of a new FM with a top team, just to get a feel for it and enjoy some success before embarking on season after season of struggle

This time round I used man Utd and enjoyed it very much. Although they're a good team with good players there is an element of difficulty to it in the fact that they have a huge loan debt (like in real life) so they lose about £4m a month because of this. It's still definitely possible to make money and buy big eventually but you have to manage the finances a little and make sure you don't always just spend all your transfer funds.

I enjoyed my an Utd game a lot so would recommend them.

Although Barca look good, when you start they will give you next to no tranfer funds (5-7mil) as you are unknown.

I did this and set myself the chalange of making them a 'spanish' team.

Makes it a bit trickier but still fun

If you want an English Premier League challenge, go for someone like, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Tottenham or Everton, sides who have potential to break into the top 4 but haven't been able to in real life.

Try Valencia there one of my fav teams on FM.

They have probably the best striker and wingers in the game, Villa, Vicente, Silva, Joaquin, and some excellent defenders.

First game I won the league with LFC.
Moved onto Leeds got promotion.

I then wanted a challange so I went with Halifax.
If you want a challange, try to get Halifax into the EPL.

Another challange is getting one of the smaller nations, like England , into the Euros and winning.

I usually do the same, played about 4 seasons with Man utd. Won everything and got bored!

Started a new game with Boston United, oh my god its so much fun. You really have to hunt for gems and put so much effort into it.
So rewarding!
