Me and my mate always play FM at my place.
I sit at my computer - and he sits at my other computer.
I am the one that loads up the game - and he connects to me.
The game runs fine on my computer, but it's always really slow on his computer.
Like, he clicks a player and then a second or two later the player screen loads (some times it'll load immediately).
Is this common?
Has anyone else been playing some network games and can tell me what experiences they have with network play?
Best to go on the online forum, but I know it's not uncommon for the other player, who isn't the host to have some delays, be thankful it's only a couple of seconds, I've heard about it being upward of 30 seconds for each page that's loaded!!!
Its common, unless you have super computers. For years me and a friend had this problem, and sometimes I (or he) would have to wait up to 8 or 10 seconds to get the screen.!
Now however, Internet connections are much improved, as are computer specs, and its instant for both of us always.
If you have a good connection then it's barely longer than playing the single player game. But always remove logos and pictures from preferences. Sending all that extra data can cause slowdown..

It definitely chugs more. I'm not convinced that 08 is actually any faster than 07 in terms of multiplayer games.
