Is 8.01 savegame compatible? 1 year into my winning-everything Ajax game and I don't want to lose.

yes but not all of the changes will happen straight away some will filter in over time

I can accept the fact not all fixes will come into play until a new game is started but installing the patch won't ruin anything of a saved game will it?

No it won't..any bug fixes will affect save game...any data changes wont.

And this must be the fifth thread in the last 24 hours asking exactly the same thing btw
