You can't start as both international and club but you can manage both at the same time (just not from the start)

It's ok during competitions but it can be a bit boring at other times. I usually just go on holiday until next squad selection.

I've always done it. But I add a club manager also and run it as a two player. For me International management is as much if not more fun as club management.
